A Capela das Aparições é o coração do Santuário de Fátima. Esta capela foi construída no lugar onde Nossa Senhora de Fátima teria aparecido para as crianças. A história das aparições conta que, Nossa Senhora de Fátima pediu, em sua última aparição, que uma capela deveria ser construída naquele lugar.
Em 1385, o rei D. João I de Portugal declarou que mandaria construir um mosteiro em honra da Virgem Maria se o seu exército conseguisse derrotar o exército muito maior dos castelhanos. Ele teve sucesso e Portugal conquistou sua independência da Espanha. O rei mandou construir o Mosteiro da Batalha para os dominicanos, embora tenha demorado quase dois séculos para ser concluído. Hoje visitar o mosteiro é uma viagem diurna popular saindo de Lisboa.
A cidade de Nazaré, na Estremadura, abraça a costa ocidental do Atlântico, uma tradicional vila de pescadores portuguesa que se transformou em um popular local de veraneio e paraíso dos surfistas. My family and I went on the Fatima, Bathala, Nazare and Obidos tour and Miguel was an incredible tour guide with a clear passion for his country and a wealth of knowledge of the history behind Portugal. His anthropological studies really shines through in the way he describes the little details of the stories he tells about each location we went to. Miguel was very respectful of our family's privacy so that we could enjoy each landmark at our own pace and his food recommendations were impeccable. By the end of the day, we left the private tour feeling like we had not only made a friend, but also learned so much about Portugal and its cultural heritage. As an added bonus, you definitely get your money's worth. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone who's visiting Portugal for the first time!

Thursday 14 August my husband and i went to a tour: Fatima, Bathala, Nazare and Obidos. Our guide Igor , very clever and nice gay, told us history and stories about the places. We saw beautiful landscapes, aboveall in Nazare, with its marvellous beaches and green sea.
