Este passeio é principalmente sobre a escultura de Richard Serra. A escultura de tirar o fôlego na reserva natural de Brouq no deserto. Ras Brouq – uma península localizada na costa oeste do Catar – guarda os restos da ocupação humana pré-histórica. As belas e icônicas formações rochosas de Ras Brouq oferecem um vislumbre de uma paisagem pré-histórica. E no meio, você verá a Formação Rochosa de Cogumelos, Zekreet Village e Zekreet Fort Ruins.

Zekreet é uma vila no noroeste do Catar. O forte de Zekreet fica na costa oeste do Catar, a 90 km de Doha. O forte tem um traçado muito distinto que permite ver as duas fases de construção. Originalmente, o forte foi construído como uma praça simples, sem torres em cada canto. Em uma segunda fase de desenvolvimento, torres foram adicionadas nos quatro cantos externos do forte.
O artista internacionalmente aclamado Richard Serra adiciona a surpreendente escultura Leste-Oeste/Oeste-Leste à paisagem do deserto, levando a arte às pessoas. Leste-Oeste/Oeste-Leste se tornou um marco famoso no Catar desde sua instalação em 2014. Esta escultura de tirar o fôlego na reserva natural de Brouq se estende por mais de um quilômetro e compreende quatro placas de aço, cada uma com mais de quatorze metros de altura.
Você também pode ver a praia de Zekreet. Onde você pode ver muitas pessoas vindo para kitesurf e parasailing.
A zona destaca-se pela sua paisagem invulgar de falésias brancas. A forma e a cor da paisagem são resultado da erosão de camadas de calcário macio, enquanto as falésias brancas em forma de vento e formas geológicas bizarras, como colinas em forma de cogumelo, tornam a área única e especial para o Catar.

An interesting trip out of Doha, with the highlight being Richard Serra's amazing East-West / West-East art installation. It was also worth seeing the striking landscape around Mushroom Rock. All-in-all, we enjoyed our time with our guide Muhammad, who was knowledgeable, polite and patient. We felt in very safe hands.

Excellent half-day tour of Western Qatar that included the Mushroom top rocks, East-West West-East monoliths, Zekreet Fort ruins. We also did a stop at the camel race track for a quick look around. Our guide, Zubair was engaging and well informed about the area and the sites we visited.
Brilliant place. Must visit. The guide Zubair was well versed with every detail of the tour. It was a lovely experience with these people.

This was a last-minute travel decision made after seeing photos of Richard Serra’s land art and the Zekreet rock formations. The tour did not disappoint. Muhammad Yasin did a wonderful job touring us to this fascinating and underappreciated destination.
Driver Muhammad was a great companion as I was his only guest on the tour! It was good to get out of the city and get a feel for the landscape. The mushroom rocks were pretty cool, but it was the Serra monoliths that stole the show. Had a lot of fun with Muhammad taking some quirky photos. A terrific diversion and well worth the effort.
