Momoko is the best guide! Thank you for the exceptional food and excellent communication!
Great way to try different Japanese dishes that are not found typically in Japanese restaurants in the US. Momoko was our guide and she was fantastic! She is a formally trained chef and was very knowledgeable about the dishes and provided much information about Japanese food and culture. Food was plentiful and finished with a sake pairing at the end. A very fun and enjoyable experience and would highly recommend, especially for first time visitors.
Momoko was a lovely guide who brought us to 2 interesting restaurants for multiple courses. We appreciated that it wasnt typical tourist food and that it was still in Gion. She gave us helpful info about other places to try as well. Lovely small group experience that was relaxing and not hurried.
Momoko was a great guide! We had so many excellent dishes Kyoto is known for at local spots. She provided excellent recommendations for the rest of my travels. I highly recommend the tour
Momoko was a fantastic host! She was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and friendly, making this one of our best tours in Japan. She took us to two very different locations, which provided a great variety of experiences. Our main stop was an intimate establishment where we enjoyed a delicious three-course meal with drinks. Momoko hand-picked everything and was extremely attentive to our dietary restrictions, ensuring a perfect meal. We were even greeted multiple times by the owner, who personally saw to our orders. We moved on to a second stop for a traditional 'dessert' —while the specific treat wasn't to my husband's personal taste, we always appreciate trying new cultural experiences! Our only minor wish was for one more restaurant stop to keep the adventure going, but we still had a fabulous time and highly recommend Momoko for her insight and hospitality.
Had a great time with our guide Momoko. The 2 stops on the tour were a lot of fun with great food choices. She was interesting and fun to talk to. She gave good food and drink recommendations. The waygu beef she ordered was my favorite dish of the entire trip. My only critique of the tour is it would be nice to go to more than 2 restaurants.
Great night out in Kyoto! Highly recommend as you get a lot for your money. We are many local dishes and tried several local drinks. The guide Momoko was a local Japanese expert and she made sure we all were engaged, having fun, and educating us on life in Kyoto. I did this solo but there were others in my group that weren’t so it’s a great night out no matter the party size. 10/10 no notes!
My first food tour! This was so fun, and all of the foods I tried were delicious. Our tour guide was awesome too!
Our family had a wonderful time on the food tour with Momoko. She was very friendly and had lots of great information to share. I definitely recommend taking a food tour with her.
Thank you so much for your amazing review! I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and discovered something new along the way. Kyoto has so many hidden flavors and local stories, so it means a lot to know that the experience felt tasty, fun, and worth trying. Hope to welcome you again for another delicious Kyoto adventure!
Although the tour is about food, what really makes the tour is the guide Momoko. She is a young Japanese Chef educated also in a few cities in Europe and US. She chose the (plenty of) food types and drinks very carefully , and helped personally , each one in the group to make the suitable choices. Most of all , she is a very nice , considerate, and fun person who organised a beautiful evening. Thank you Momoko.
