O pirata Jean Lafitte chegou a transformar a ilha em um covil de ladrões. Galveston tem mais fantasmas do que qualquer outra cidade nos EUA. No auge, esta estação ferroviária via mais de 40 mil pessoas por dia a caminho dos bares, cassinos e bordéis de Galveston. Um engenheiro com o nome de William Watson entretinha as multidões que passavam fazendo manobras na guarda de gado dos motores. Um dia infeliz ele deslizou e foi imediatamente decapitado. Um chapéu de derby ainda estava seguramente sentado na cabeça que eles encontraram A MILE AWAY!

Um fantasma útil irá até mesmo desfazer as malas para você!
Charles F. Coghlan, um famoso ator britânico, viajou para Galveston para enfeitar o palco do The Grand Opera House. Mas o pobre Charles morreu antes que a cortina fosse erguida. O que fazer com o corpo deste visitante distinto? Enquanto aguardava a resposta, a Grande Tempestade demoliu a ilha e levou o caixão de Charles para o mar. Not sure if I believe all the stories told, but we had a great tour guide (Thomas). The tour was also not too taxing for older folks; plenty of stops where you could take a seat for a few minutes.

Thomas was an excellent guide. His presentation was engaging with so much detail about Galveston’s history and development as a city in the 1800’s. Their port was a critical part of their businesses and for a while Galveston was the capital of Texas. But when the 1900 storm hit Galveston, it devastated the city and changed its future. The worst natural disaster ever in the U.S. Thomas told us about the long recovery of Galveston and that ghosts are part of their city. One fascinating fact after another throughout the tour! I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of history, thomas was very knowledgeable. Interesting ghost stories. He even took more time with us. He pointed out various buildings and definitely captured your attention.

Thomas led a great tour! He gave great bits of history while telling us stories of some of the more notable spirits all while being fun and telling jokes. The tour was a great way to get to know the island a little better on our first night.

Took my daughter and a group of her friends on this tour for her 18th birthday. Thomas was very informative and kept everyone interested and entertained throughout the tour, which is not an easy thing to do with teenagers. Even though we are locals we learned lots of things about the island we never knew. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a fun evening Thomas!
