Great tour and tour guide. I stayed at the Belvedere resort so the bus stop was only a 6 minute walk and the hotel can give you at ride if needed. Very convenient all the way around.
Wonderful experience. One of the best organized tours. You will not regret making this trip, which provides just enough time for the beach and to travel back to your accommodations for evening dinner.
Beautiful place and must visit if you are in Crete. The journey was long but understandable since we were starting from Heraklion. Driver and tour guide were amazing. I would recommend them!
bus driver and tour guide were great & The bus was clean & air conditioned. The 3.5 hour trip was long (there is a smoke break) but once you got there, it was worth it, and lots of beautiful sights to see along the way. No food or beverages are included but You can purchase them for reasonable prices on the beach (3.50€ for beer .50€ for water, and 2 loungers under a thatched umbrella was $20€. The sand is indeed pale pinky-beige, although pinker in some spots (the island) so walk to the island if you can. The sand is also very soft. In May, the beach and restaurant was not overly crowded -a bonus. We are so glad we made the trip!
It was very good and the tour guide was also great. The water was still a bit cold , but we were told in advance.
I will describe with my native language so that I can express how fantastic this activity was. Elizabeth is simply amazing! She speaks English, French and German, she is very lively and speaks with passion about all the historical facts and curiosities during the journey. Nikos the driver was impeccable too! The transportation is comfortable and punctual, his driving skills are also amazing because when we literally reached the end of the island and we have to start climbing slopes through small villages, he kept the perfect direction even on the extremely narrow roads. In general I describe this activity as unavoidable, very worth the value and time, I saw in some reviews that 4 hours is little time there but it is not, it was enough time, I and my wife explored every corner. Finally, I thank Elizabetha and Nikos again for the unforgettable experience! Luiz and Stephanie, we are Brazilians and we were staying at Arina Beach Club in Heraklion.
Beautiful place!! Water was not so cold in April!! Long trip but you can enjoy and stay 4 hours on the beach, you can bring some food or get something in a store where the bus stopped ! They have good bakery! Then you walk for 15 minutes to get to the beach !!
This beach is beautiful. It's a bit of a shame it is so crowded but you still feel like you are in an amazing and magical place.
Very nice tour, well organised and the beach was fantastic. Nice relaxing time and the operator was very freindly
We were picked up on time at the meeting point. Our driver Nikos brought us safely - with a small toilet/drinking break - to the lagoon. Elisabetta, our very friendly and authentic guide, gave us information about the island and a few tips on staying in the lagoon while driving. The journey time of > 3 hours was quite long (but we knew that in advance). On a natural, small-stone footpath (gravel path) with a bit of a slope we walked for 7-10 minutes towards the turquoise sea. And yes, it really is a beautiful section ... the sand is fine and the sea crystal clear. There are a limited number of sunbeds and parasols at the stand (for people with disabilities there is a separate area with wooden slats). 2 sunbeds with 1 umbrella cost 20 euros as a set. Unfortunately, you're lying there like in a sardine can. As lunchtime approached, more tourists arrived. The length of stay was about 3.5 hours. Changing rooms are free on the beach. For the use of the toilets, 1 euro is due. Snacks/beverages were available at the bottom of the grid in September. The way back to the bus was quite arduous due to the heat and takes twice the time. At the arrival/pickup point there are shops and also a few toilets. On time we stopped at the hotel - with a short stopover - for dinner time. We thank you for the great and smooth day trip and will definitely book a trip via Viator again in the future.
