Our trip was amazing! Joao what’s the best? He was an amazing teacher, safe driver and an incredible guide for our wine tour. We sampled wines from a small (handpicked grapes)winery and then a larger winery with a factory production. Both wineries were excellent. We got a great tour in both areas and sampled 12 different wines along the way! Joao took us to a local restaurant that served the freshest fish we’ve had in a very long time grilled to perfection and we sampled the green wine of the region, which was also very very tasty.! We learned about the countryside, the country of Portugal and about Lisbon from Joao and the wine makers. Highly recommend the tour if you want a great sample of the wines of the region.
This private tour with João was hands down the highlight of our entire Portugal trip! From the moment he picked us up at our hotel, we knew we were in for something special. João’s knowledge of Portuguese history and culture and Sintra’s particularly unique history and architecture was incredible, but what really set him apart was his genuine passion and patience for our questions and wide range of family interests. He didn’t just recite facts, he brought every story to life. Quinta da Regaleira was like stepping into a fairy tale. The mystical gardens, the enigmatic Initiation Well, and the hidden tunnels were absolutely mesmerizing. João knew all the best spots for photos and gave us plenty of time to explore. Having the entrance fees already sorted meant we could just relax and enjoy without any hassle. Monserrate Palace was equally stunning and those exotic gardens and Moorish architecture took our breath away. It was less crowded than some of the other palaces, which made the experience feel even more intimate and special. The lunch stop in Cascais followed by ice cream and the beach was the perfect way to wind down. The seaside setting was gorgeous, and João recommended a fantastic local restaurant where we had the freshest seafood. It was wonderful to relax by the ocean after a morning of exploration. This tour felt perfectly paced, wonderfully personal, and utterly unforgettable. If you’re visiting Lisbon, do yourself a favor and book this tour with João. You won’t regret it!
Thank you very much Margaret for your fantastic review, it was my pleasure to make your day so special. Thank you
This is a must do Lisbon experience for anyone interested in learning about the history of Lisbon and the process of wine making. The host is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and provided great advice for the remainder of our time visiting Lisbon. The wine was excellent also!
Thank you very much Byron, it was a pleasure to end 2025 touring you guys around the Lisbon wine region. All the best
This is the second time I’ve used Joao for a private tour. Having just finished the Camino de Santiago in Spain, we came to Portugal to recover. One of my friends wanted to see Nazare so we left Lisbon and headed north. Had a fabulous private wine tasting on the way to Nazare. Nazare was breathtaking…wandered around to see all the surfing spots from the top then drove down to the beach for a delicious lunch. If you want a great guide…he’s your man! Make sure you reach out to him ASAP as he books up fast! Thanks for another amazing day Joao ❤️

The tour was awesome, and Joao made the experience so much better. He was great to talk to and shared lots of interesting facts about the wineries we went to and wine production in general. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested. You not only get amazing wine and views, but also food and conversation!
Thank you very much, it was a pleasure to meet you
Our guide is very personable & knowledgeable. There is water on the car ride. Both vineyard are special in their own way. We could not have had a better lunch stop - our first time to have grilled whole sea bass and sardines with sea salt & olive oil - wow- so incredibly delicious. Would recommend this tour 100%.

We had an incredible experience with Joao! He was so friendly & informative and took us to the best spots to eat (and drink). I would absolutely take a tour with him again and would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone visiting Portugal!
Thank you very much for your wonderfull review
Joao was quite knowledgeable and tried to introduce us to the wineries as well as the communities surrounding them. It was a pleasure to visit his Portugal. We were especially pleased with the small boutique winery that he showed us. The winery staff was it was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. they were flexible and changed the wines in the tasting based upon our stated preference. All in all it was a delightful experience, and the wine was good too. Lunch was also a treat. Instead of taking us to a touristy luncheon, João It took us to a wonderful fish restaurants favored by the locals. It was out of this world! All in all cannot recommend this tour and tour guide too much.
Thank you very much for your wonderfull review Michael, we had an amazing day exploring Lisbon wine region. All the best
We were fortunate enough to do both a 1/2 day Lisbon tour and a Full day wine tour with João while we were in Lisbon. We were not sure we would enjoy Lisbon as we are more nature / island lovers, but spending time with João we fell in love with Lisbon and it's surrounding areas. First, he happily changed our schedule when the airline switched our times. Second, he is so attentive to what you are interested in and creates the tour accordingly. Third, his love and passion for his city and country really make the tour special. He showed us countless places we NEVER would have found on our own, got us away from the crowds, and made us feel like friends. His connections in Lisbon were REAL obvious when we had access to places most do not. I won't give away the secrets... book a tour to find out. He even learned enough about us to find the perfect spot for us to have dinner. Literally could not have chosen a better spot. If you want to see the city or the countryside in a way that feels personal and educational, João is your guy!
Thank you very much for your amazing review
I had an excellent day trip to visit the wineries Manzwine and Adegamae with the wonderful guide Joao Guadalpi. The wines were great, the tours were very interesting and I learned a lot about Portuguese wines. The food was also fantastic and they easily made dietary accommodations for me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon who would like to learn more about local wine and culture.
Thank you for your words Stephanie, it was a pleasure to host you
