Descubra as belas cidades maias ao redor do Lago Atitlan, o espetáculo mais magnífico já visto. Com mulheres indígenas em trajes multicoloridos, pescadores em artesanato rústico e a beleza dos três vulcões ao redor: San Pedro, Toliman e Atitlan. Santiago Atitlan, a cidade mais visitada por sua bela Guipil (blusa) e sua antiga igreja católica com combinação de cultura maia e espanhola. Para finalizar a última cidade a visitar é San Juan la Laguna, uma cidade única com cooperativas de corantes naturais, arte da pintura e plantas medicinais.

Itinerário
É aqui que o passeio começa. Na sua chegada você terá cerca de 45 minutos para tomar café da manhã (não incluído). Depois disso, você caminha até o cais para pegar o barco. Panajachel, também conhecida como “Pana”, é uma cidade encantadora localizada às margens do Lago Atitlan. É o centro mais importante da zona, razão pela qual concentra a maioria dos hotéis, restaurantes, vida noturna, centros de entretenimento e lojas. Ideal para comprar artesanato e contribuir com o turismo local.
Primeira cidade a visitar. San Juan la Laguna, uma pitoresca cidade na margem oeste do lago, existem várias cooperativas: de apicultores, cafeicultores a tecelões de teares, que trabalham com corantes naturais. Usando técnicas ancestrais, eles extraem corantes de cascas de árvores, vegetais, cascas de coco e assim por diante para pintar de cores seus produtos.
Segunda cidade a visitar San Pedro la Laguna, estendendo-se sobre uma península na base do vulcão de mesmo nome. Tão famosa como Panajachel, é o local preferido de muitos turistas estrangeiros, fascinados pela tranquilidade do ambiente.
Terceira cidade a visitar: Santiago Atitlan é um lugar de muita beleza natural e colorido, tanto pelo artesanato que ali se faz quanto pelo traje de seus habitantes. Os moradores vestem seu traje regional e as mulheres vestem huipiles (blusas) coloridas tecidas em algodão branco com desenhos geométricos e pequenos pássaros. Multicolorido bordado na cintura, e as cortes (saias) consistem em um pedaço de pano enrolado na cintura; Também é usada uma fita chamada tocoyal, que tem aproximadamente 20 metros de comprimento e é enrolada na cabeça. Nesta bela cidade encontra-se a Igreja de Santiago Apóstol, construída em 1547. É uma das igrejas mais antigas da Guatemala e nela se pode apreciar o sincretismo especialmente no retábulo-mor. Há também um ídolo maia chamado "Maximón" de origem desconhecida.

The good: the lake is very beautiful, our excellent guides Elena and Verónica, the visit to the bees and the textile cooperative in San Juan, with the talented Amanda. The peaceful return trip. The bad: the outbound trip - bus without seatbelts, a "daring" driver (several of us arrived very nauseous), the incomprehensible visit to the shaman, the brief stop in San Rafael. The areas for improvement: less emphasis on shopping, more on enjoying the lake and learning about the history of those who inhabit it.
The lake and the four towns around it that we visited are fantastic! Incredible views, very interesting geography, history, and culture. The pickup was timely. Our guides, Elena and Verónica were simply superb. Couldn't be better: friendly, knowledgeable, informative, helpful.

Driver Frank was great. Local tour guides and people on lake towns not so much. It was ok with San Juan being nice for pictures. You inly send 30 mnts in San Pedro but really not much to see there anyway. In Santiago the best way to see the most is by paying extra to take a tuctuc. The best thing was the art gallery where we were able to see beautiful and different paintings depicting Guatemalan culture and daily activities. Food and service were not good and people were not very nice or customer service oriented. If you don't have much time and want to see the lake, this is a good option.

Lots of aggressive selling by the at all the stops along the lake so just be prepared- it was beyond frustrating.
It was a beautiful day and everything was so peaceful and well planned out. It was an easy transition from the moment they pick you up at the hotel to the lake, and vice-versa. Make sure you bring Q500 cash and sunscreen!
Getting to the lake is a two hour ride, through many busy rural towns and great landscapes. Good breakfast options are made available before boarding a covered and somewhat cramped fast boat twenty minutes across this massive (127 sq km) surrounded by volcanoes. The three towns are highly tourist oriented so expect to be politely harassed. There are beautiful crafts and bargains to be had - but not in the places you are taken to although the demonstrations of Mayan bee-keeping and uses of honey was well presented and fascinating. Likewise in the textiles studio showing how the cotton plant is turned into the many beautifully coloured items. There are three destinations visited with your private boat, the final one being a large town with an option for a one hour yuk-tuk tour for Q50, which is worth it. The very good quality lunch options happens after the tour and just before crossing back over the lake for the long drive back to Antigua. It makes for a 13 hour day after a very early 5.30am pick up.
Local guide Elena was great. The places we visited were nice, a bit focused on shopping but I don’t mind that, I appreciate the hustle of local artisans. Places where we had breakfast and lunch were ok; even though we ordered lunch in advance to avoid waiting, we still had to wait 20 minutes to be served. Now, the driving was awful. The driver was driving reckless, above the speed limit and using his phone. I was very anxious all the time. I would recommend as long as the driver gets his license revoked.

My girlfriend and I had a great time navigating on lake Atitlan. We got to see the beautiful and colorful towns of San Juan, San Pedro, and Santiago. Tourist guides were very friendly and informative. We recommend anyone visiting Guatemala to take this tour.
This was wonderful experience and worth the long ride. I learned alot about the culture. Pedro was excellent and took well care of us and the food was great at the recommend restuarants.
