Express Rafting was the company we were sadly putnwoth for the day. The pick up was on time, a nice air conditioned bus. The driver was steady and smooth, I usually get travel sick but he was great. On arrival at Express Rafting is where it started to go downhill and quickly, massively. Every single guide was more interested in smoking and chatting amongst themselves away from the customers Than they were telling us what we need to do. After 30 minutes of toing and froing we were given our helmets and lifejackets and ushered into another minibus. Again no communication or interaction from the guides. We stopped and were told to get out after a couple minutes drive. This was followed by 'follow me' and further hanging around without communication as to why, in the sweltering heat BUT no prior information given to us to say we'll be hanging around for an hour in the sun without access to water or anywhere to sit whilst waiting. Had we been told we'd be stood around like idiots, we'd have brought water to drink, my 9 year old started to get dizzy and feel sick and my mum started to get a migraine. None of the guides were interacting with any of us. Not interactio with the the group at allother than pointing and saying photos. It would have been nice to tell us where were we, any historical detail of where we were dumped out of the van. All the guides walked away from the 45 or so customers they had brought to this area and gathered around smoking and chatting amongst themselves. Hornets were buzzing incessantly around us, they were after the food and rotting fruit that previous visitors had left all over the place. Nowhere to sit, tempers were starting to flare up across the customer group. After many attempts to find out what was going on, after an houfor more of standing around, we were ushered down a path towards the river. Further delays with the guides chatting amongst themselves, pointing and shouting angrily in their own language, finally after almost 2 hours of being dumped at the clearing we were sat in the boats. Further disorganisation followed before we were on our way down the river. Our guide Yanis was a lovely lad, the rafting itself was great. The delay at the end of the rafting was more hanging around, absolute disorganised chaos. We as a family were hugely disappointed with the trip, 5 out of the 9 hours were literally standing around in the beating down heat, with no communication from the guides and feeling like nothing but hindrances to the tour guides. Avoid express rafting at all costs - disorganised from start to finished. The only reason 2 stars have been given is because the rafting was good and Janis was good fun. Use a different rafting company and have less regrets than us.
Great experience thanks. Our teenage boys loved it. Food was great and transfer as well as everything else.
We did the rafting trip today and had such a good day. From the beginning organising the trip via Trip Advisor was easy, we booked and paid via the app. We then received regular communication from the organiser and pick up was as advised. The rafting was longer than expected and was thoroughly enjoyed by 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Lunch at the end was good and also suited myself being a vegetarian too. Would love to do the trip again if we are ever back in Side and would recommend Alya Travel too, it was easy to book with her and well organised. This trip will be a lovely menory for us.
The rafting itself was very good, beautiful river and surroundings. Safe and excellent way to spend a day away from a hotel. Nice lunch. Things to improve. The driver talked on the phone several times while driving on a very narrow road with 15 people on the bus. He and his manager seem to be ok with this fact as it was ‘work related calls’ when I made a comment. Also the driver drove on a wrong side of the road couple of times. Also, not sure if the helmets and life vests were sanitized, they looked unclean.
I took Rafting tour in last moment. 5 stars to everything our driver did for me. Being a little extraordinary with my requests the guys from tour made everything happen. Thanks a lot! You rock! P.S. The next time I will definitely come back for rafting 😉
Tahnk you so much!/ We are waiting for you with plesuare)
