Declan was our guide on day 1 and he was so nice and helpful. Gordan was our guide for the rest of the tour. He did such a great job. The tour was really good for us because we didn't want to have to plan everything yet we wanted to see a lot of Ireland outside of Dublin. This was perfect for us. And it also turned out to be really good.
Was very impressed with our tour guide for days 2, 3, and 4. Our first day tour guide made some sexist comments which were off-putting.
My family and I booked a 4-day tour to the west and south of Ireland. It was our first visit to the country for my mother's 70th birthday (10 adults total). We normally avoid guided tours because we like to explore and discover things on our own. With that being said, I cannot recommend Paddywagon Tours enough. It was well worth the price of admission, many times over. Our guide/driver Danny was incredible, both in his stories/ informational bits and in his professionalism with the group. He gave us recommendations for restaurants, told us the best pubs from which to grab a pint, and went above and beyond his job responsibilities when we ran into an issue with a lost phone on the 3rd day. We were able to pack quite a bit of activities into a relatively short period of time, while still not feeling rushed through any part of the tour. It was literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our family. Every single person in our group was beyond happy with the trip. We were able to enjoy the island and create memories that will last for the rest of our lives. So thank you, Paddywagon, for making it all possible and allowing us the opportunity to share this beautiful experience with our mom on her milestone birthday.
Great experience overall. We went as a group of 10 and travel was going to be difficult. I was super apprehensive to go on a bus tour because I thought we would miss alot of the beautiful country side. What it did was let us really enjoy all the sights with no stress and no conerns on who was driving, where were we parking , booking multiplehotels, etc, etc, etc. . Danny was our guide and so helpful and friendly and really helped to ensure we would enjoy our trip. Danny was GREAT! We would definitely recommend.
The natural beauty of the Dingle Peninsula is breathtaking. But, Danny, our guide, overshadowed it all. He was informative, sharing Irish culture, he demonstrated kindness and was responsive to all the participants questions and needs.
Sites included were great and we got to experience much of Ireland’s natural beauty. The sheepdog demonstration and horse back riding were hits with my family. That said, part of the joy of these tours is the community that gets established and and the friendships that are formed. The wat Paddywagon operates, with people in, people out from 2-day tours and 3-day tours is not conducive to group cohesion. Our tour guide was adequate on the information front, a bit too much about his personal preferences for my tastes. On several occasions he did not give clear directions or set specific expectations. Then when his preferences were not met and one of our crew was “late” I felt he overreacted and berated her publicly. I thought he was unfair to her and failed to acknowledge that part of the failure rested with him. He also struggled to keep track of the numbers signing up for optional activities resulting in a fair degree of confusion. Again he tended to place blame on the group members, rather than admit much of the error rested with him. An easy solution would have been assign a group member the responsibility of giving him a list of those choosing the option. Overall it was a positive experience but I found the ever shifting itenerary to accommodate pick-up and drop-offs from other tours to be frustrating. This should be acknowledged in the promotional material. Also, Venitor needs to confirm pick-up/ drop-off points with Paddywagon because what we were told/directed to was wrong.
The tour guides/bus drivers were very knowledgeable. The areas we visited, as well as the accommodations, were well thought out. They have the timing down to a science. Having a group of less than 20 passengers made the experience very enjoyable. Everyone pretty much gets to know one another. I would highly recommend this four day tour!
We were able to see alot of Ireland in a short time. Did not like the drop off at the end of the trip being at a taxi pick up spot instead of our hotel with all our luggage to haul around.
Absolutely loved Ireland , only complaint, wish I could have stayed longer. The people, scenery, music and food were wonderful. Danny was our guide/ driver at Paddywagon and he was a true gem … kind, always smiling , fantastic driver , full of such interesting facts, history , stories and a genuine great guy. His recommendations during free time were bang on accurate and perfect for our needs. Thank you Danny ! I look forward to returning to 🍀 Ireland ❤️ and would highly recommend this tour.
Dear Lorna, thank you for choosing Paddywagon Tours and your 5 star review with awesome photos! We're very hapy to know you abosultely loved Ireland and that your only complaint is that you could have stayed longer! We hope to welcome you as our guest again sometime!
Amazing experience. I wanted to see scenery and saw stunning sights and when I thought it couldn’t get any better it would. Alex was an incredible tour guide as he took his pm time and took us to a river dance show that was fantastic and one morning he arranged for a horse and carriage ride through a park which was beautiful. These are outings we wouldn’t have known about but he took his time for us to be able to go if we wanted. The accommodations were great. The amount of time spent at stops was adequate. He gave us lots of information. It was exactly what I wanted and more.
