The excursion is typical with countless other boats that do the same route. And at every stage someone who wants to sell you something. However, the dolphins were there, I also and even the starfish beautiful. And at a much lower cost than the same experience with different operators.
1st. Driver showed up way too early than the schedule time. 2nd. We picked up a “captain” that when we got to the beach he was like “I will not be your captain today because my stomach is sick” so I guess he hired another boat for me. 3. The guy that was hired did not even speak any English, but that was not a problem. The problem was when he brought another guy that was selling coconut and they were “translating” 4. the captain brought two beach/ ocean vendors with us in the boat and they ate the fruit that was supposed to be mine. He did not even ask if I was comfortable with other people on the boat. 5. I did not see any dolphins.
We only wanted a half day trip on this day as we wanted to chill for the rest of the day so we could pack for our flight the next day. Loved all of it, although I was upset for the dolphins being chased by all the boats, just so they could swim with the Dolphins. My Husband did it, but I didn’t. He said that the dolphins just seemed to do their own thing and were oblivious to the tourists. Loved swimming with the butterfly fish and others. Swimming in the shallows before low tide was awesome and the beautiful star fish were just the icing on the cake. Don’t expect to go on a powerful speed boat. We went on a traditional punt with a 15 hp engine. Slow and steady, but it added to the wonderful atmosphere. Our guides were engaging and encouraging, and they did their best to make our trip most memorable.
