Fundado em 1964, o mundialmente famoso Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park de Nagano é o lar da única tropa de macacos do mundo conhecida por se banhar em fontes termais. Sem barreiras entre você e os macacos (não se preocupe, eles são muito calmos) esta é uma oportunidade única de observar essas criaturas curiosas de perto enquanto caminham ao seu redor, lutam entre si, se arrumam sem parar e, claro, mergulhe em sua fonte termal favorita! Seu guia irá apresentá-lo a tudo o que os torna tão únicos e famosos, dando-lhe tempo suficiente para explorar por si mesmo. Observe que o tempo estimado no parque dos macacos inclui entrar e sair pela trilha da floresta - 1,6 km em cada sentido / 35 minutos em cada sentido no inverno. Nós nos esforçamos para dar aos nossos hóspedes 1 hora no parque para observar os macacos, mas isso depende do seu ritmo dentro e fora do parque. Observe também que durante o inverno a trilha e o parque serão afetados pela neve e pelo gelo, portanto, certifique-se de usar sapatos ou botas de boa qualidade.
O passeio inclui um almoço de inverno no 'Japanese Dining GOEN'. Localizado a cerca de 5 minutos de carro do parque dos macacos, o GOEN serve uma saborosa seleção de pratos japoneses e ocidentais com sua escolha de diferentes tigelas de arroz, como 'oyakadon' (frango e ovo), 'kaisen' (frutos do mar) ou 'tempura' (levemente legumes empanados e fritos) com uma porção de 'soba' quente (macarrão de trigo sarraceno) e muito mais!
Como um dos templos budistas mais antigos, maiores e mais importantes do Japão, Zenko-ji é o coração espiritual de Nagano. Um Tesouro Nacional registrado, a história de quase 1400 anos do templo está cheia de lendas e mitos que seu guia o ajudará a desbloquear enquanto o guiam pelo recinto do templo, seguido de tempo para explorar por si mesmo (se houver tempo).

- De meados de dezembro até o início de abril, a trilha e o parque provavelmente serão afetados pela neve e pelo gelo. Certifique-se de usar sapatos/botas adequados e roupas quentes. Se necessário, as botas de aluguel estão disponíveis perto do parque dos macacos e crampons (picos de metal que se prendem sob seus sapatos/botas) também podem ser comprados. De meados de dezembro até o início de março, use roupas adequadas para temperaturas potencialmente abaixo de 0°C (e tão baixas quanto -10°C).
- Durante o inverno é comum ver os macacos aproveitando a fonte termal, no entanto, da primavera ao outono haverá momentos em que os macacos brincam ou comem na água, no entanto, observe que os macacos são animais selvagens e não há garantia de que haja serão macacos no banho.
- Há alguns dias no ano em que os macacos podem não descer ao parque, chegar tarde ou sair mais cedo. Embora isso seja improvável, é possível e está fora do nosso controle.
- Este passeio inclui almoço no 'Japanese Dining GOEN', um popular restaurante local. Em raras ocasiões, pode não ser possível usar este restaurante, caso em que mudaríamos para outro local comparável. Observe que o restaurante pode alterar seu menu de tempos em tempos e o almoço do passeio pode ser diferente das imagens mostradas nesta página.
- Este passeio está programado para terminar em Nozawa Onsen às 18:00. No entanto, devido às condições meteorológicas e das estradas no inverno, não podemos garantir a hora do fim.

I had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed all the different experiences provided. It was great seeing the snow monkeys in their environment. The Nagano temple was so interesting specially with Jen’s informing us. Jens was an excellent guide - professional, organised and very knowledgeable. He was caring and helpful and kept an eye on everyone to make sure things were going well. I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a highlight of my trip to Japan.

This was an excellent tour, small group, lead by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lin. Loads of interesting information on the way to se the snow monkeys then plenty of time to enjoy them. It was a very cold day so most of us had decamped down the road for a surprisingly good coffee, then walked down the hill to a truly charming inn where we had our set lunch. This was again something of a surprise - excellent food in a beautiful space. Miso soup, tempura and sushi followed by individual hotpots, significantly better food than that experienced on an entire food tour in Tokyo. After lunch an interesting visit to Nagano and famous temple then a fun sake tasting, in all a great tour expertly lead.

Dillion was an amazing guide. His deep knowledge was put to the test by our endless curiosity. If he didn’t know the answer he knew who to ask. We had a wonderful day that just kept getting better. We expected the snow monkeys to be the highlight and they certainly were, but the rest of the day was just as fascinating. Lunch was delicious and the conversation never slowed. The temple tour was quite interesting and Dillion shared his knowledge and personal experience freely. We bumped in to another tour group and their guide learned a few tidbits from Dillion. We enjoyed a little free time to explore and sampled a few treats at the temple complex. The final highlight was learning about the Sake brewing process and sampling a variety of excellent variations. A truly informative and adventurous day.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk to snow monkey park and the apple pie after. The temple tour was outside my interest though I loved the buildings. Sake tasting was fun. Overall a great day & very good value. Maybe 9 hours was a bit long (at least for me)

The best day with the best guide! Everything from seeing the monkeys to lunch, the temples and sake tasting was awesome. Our guide was so knowledgeable and knew everything we needed to know about the area. Definitely recommending to friends and family.
This tour is a little bit on the expensive side but we found it to be worth it for a few reasons. 1) Our tour guide, Jens, was fantastic. I especially enjoyed his knowledge and passion about Japanese Buddhism which taught me a few things I didn't know. But, even if you aren't interested in Buddhism, I still think you'd like Jens. 2) It was a convenient way for us to leave Nozawaonsen and end up in Nagano for the night with all of our luggage, which is what we wanted for our itinerary. 3) The combination of the snow monkeys, temple, and sake tasting, was perfect.

The tour to Jigokudani Monkey Park with Lynn was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience so much richer. We saw around 200 monkeys, with several relaxing in the onsen — an unforgettable sight and even more fascinating with Lynn’s insights into their behavior and the park’s history. Beyond the park, the day was perfectly rounded out with a visit to the charming town of Nagano, where we enjoyed wandering the streets and finishing with a wonderful sake tasting. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip — highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
Great day. Well organised and very enjoyable. Lovely lunch. Beautiful walk through the forest to the snow monkeys took about 25 minutes.
Kieron was an incredible guide, bringing over 20 years of experience in Japan to every part of the tour. His insider knowledge and fascinating stories made the journey so much more engaging and memorable. The pick-up from the bus station was smooth and stress-free, and the small group size gave the whole experience a personal touch. The sake tour itself was both educational and fun, with well-chosen stops that highlighted the region’s traditions and culture.
