Meteora recebeu o nome de Santo Atanásio, o Meteorito, proprietário da Grande Igreja de Meteorou. Desde 1988, os mosteiros de Meteora têm uma posição no catálogo de monumentos patrimoniais globais da UNESCO. Construído no topo das rochas, em uma alta que chega a 400 metros, Meteora é considerada uma das maiores criações da natureza e um dos monumentos mais importantes da ortodoxia. Hoje, apenas 7 dos mosteiros históricos estão sendo usados, 6 dos quais estão abertos ao público, que são: • O Mosteiro de Anapausa • Mosteiro de Rusanu • O mosteiro "Big Meteoro" • Mosteiro Varlaam • Mosteiro Agia Triada • Mosteiro de Agios Stefanos

Itinerário
Nós vamos buscá-lo em seu hotel em Halkidiki às 07:30, e vamos seguir a estrada em direção a Meteora, que levará cerca de 3,5-4 horas até chegarmos lá. Se você gosta, podemos fazer uma pequena parada na cidade de Trikala, para um café ao lado do rio Litheos, e depois começamos a visitar os mosteiros de Meteora. Este tour maravilhoso será concluído nas aldeias pitorescas de Kalambaka ou Kastraki, onde você pode ter opcional um almoço tradicional grego! Depois, retornaremos a Halkidiki. A duração destes passeios é de cerca de 10-12 horas, uma vez que Meteora fica a aproximadamente 350 km de Halkidiki (dependendo da aldeia).

Dimitris is a great person to spend time with, very kind and knowledgeble person. The car was extremely comfortable and an unexpected bonus, we were treated with some fruits :) Definitely reccomend this to everyone, especially in company with Dimitris. We have visited 3 monastaries and had an amazing lunch in the restaurant nearby.
Dimitrios was the perfect guide - looked after us all day. Got us to all of the four monasteries we wanted to go to. Magical experience!

Absolutely awesome trip! Experience of the lifetime and we will go back there. Perfect weather and even rain didn’t make it worse but better as it was needed after visiting monasteries. Whole trip was possible thanks to professional and very nice driver Dimitris. Dimitris knew where to go. Knew how to get there and waited for us in perfect car and all Covid needed equipment. He made this trip superb in every detail. Great driving skills not only during dry but especially during waterfall from heaven on the way back! Meteora Monastery it’s most beautiful place I’ve ever been to and will be back for more..view from there it’s too awesome to capture by any camera. Made my holidays worth every penny! My husband and I had an excellent trip to Meteora with Prime Taxi! Our driver Dimitri was professional, friendly and had great local knowledge. He made sure our journey was as comfortable as possible and provided us with hand wipes, water, wine and fruit! He really went above and beyond. The drive to Meteora and back was long, but Dimitri made sure it was fun and showed us many beautiful landscapes along the way. Please note that this tour only includes a car & driver, not a tour guide. If you want a tour of the monasteries, you’ll have to organise these separately. I would 100% recommend the private tours with Prime Taxi.
We had a very nice day. Dimitris was in time, very good English, safe drive, very knowledgeable, couldn't do enough for us. Nice touch the wine and fruits and the good quality water.
