We loved Ishmael and he was fabulous and knowledgeable. I’m only giving it a 4 so folks know there will be some bugs to contend with, but hey we are in Costa Rica and it is to be expected. At least the bugs we had weren’t biting bugs….just annoying. lol. 😝
The kayak trip was such a unique experience, and our guides Alejandro and Ken were super knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. Definitely recommend!
What an amazing experience! We are a family of four. Two adults, a 13 year old, and 15 year old. The day started with a pickup at our Airbnb by one of our guides, Ariel. He was very friendly and had a lot to share about Costa Rica and mangroves. At the docking area we were placed in a double kayak. The kayak was so easy to use despite occasionally getting stuck amongst some mangroves. But that just made the morning more interesting! We had Ariel at the front and our other guide, Mike, in the back to ensure we were safe and having fun. It was a nice leisurely ride through the water. I’m not the most athletic person but I was able to handle the kayak well enough. Throughout the ride Ariel would give more information about Costa Rica and the environment. He was always engaging and would include the kids in his conversation. Him and Mike were so encouraging, especially when we would get stuck! They always cheered us on. Halfway through we were given bottled water. At the end of the trip, before getting back in the van, we enjoyed some of the sweetest pineapple I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this excursion!
Loved this tour! Roberto and Mike did an awesome job, and they were very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and wildlife. We were able to paddle through smaller paths that a boat would not be able, which allowed us to see more wildlife. Unless there's a downpour, don't be afraid of the rain. It was actually refreshing from the heat. I would absolutely recommend this tour! Thanks again Roberto and Mike! ❤️
I admit that I was rather nervous before I got to the tour but the kayaking in the mangroves was amazing. What a terrific experience. I was very well looked after by DK and Roberto and was in awe at the interesting ecosystem. I was very lucky to even see a silky anteater. I loved every minute…
The tour was great and the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We say a troop of monkeys right at the start of our tour--there were baby monkeys too!
We just came returned from our trip with Ismael and Damien. Everything was well planned and on time. The duo is fun, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. It’s definitely an interesting experience to try the paddle kayak but very relaxing and easy to learn. The Mangrove and everything we learned about this amazing ecosystem was fascinating. At the end of the trip, we were treated to fresh pineapple and cookies. We had a wonderful time. Thank you Paddle9 for providing us with lots of information. Trip worth taking!
Relaxing yet active in a different, non-hiking way. Very good guide. Very informative. Kayaking on a tidal River was calm and sunny. The Mangrove forest is interesting to hear about and to experience. Note that most children and many teens will be bored.
Great fun. Easy pedaling. These kayaks are so simple to use with very little effort. You get to see a lot of the mangroves and hear a lot about the different trees and animal's. We saw Capuchin monkeys, crabs, heron, hawks and Iguanas. Absolutely amazing. What you need... Bare feet is fine and better for the pedaling. Sunscreen!!! You get a life vest Gopro if you have one Give the guide a camera as he took pics for us Hats if you like. That's it. Anyone can do this its really easy...no strength required at all! 100% recommended
