Este impressionante marco foi construído em 1184 e serviu como hospital por mais de 800 anos! Agora um hotel e shopping center 5 estrelas, essas paredes guardam muitas histórias de relatos históricos e lendas.
La Croix-Rousse e suas encostas são qualificadas como patrimônio da UNESCO. La Croix-Rousse é o antigo bairro da classe trabalhadora de Lyon que abrigava os Canuts (ou trabalhadores da seda de Lyon).
Este afresco concluído em 1995 representa 2.000 anos de história com 25 figuras históricas e 6 contemporâneas de Lyon. Algumas das representações mais notáveis são os Irmãos Lumière, Antoine de St-Exupéry e o Pequeno Príncipe, e Paul Bocuse.
A praça mais bonita de Lyon abriga a Prefeitura, o Museu de Belas Artes e a deslumbrante Fonte Bartholdi. É o local perfeito para tirar fotos, conhecer algumas histórias e lendas interessantes, e também fazer uma pausa e tomar uma bebida.
O Palais de Justice e sua passerelle são dois marcos icônicos da cidade. Da passerelle os visitantes podem ver ao longo do rio Soane, no coração da cidade.
Situada no coração da cidade velha, esta catedral é uma estrutura impressionante. Construído ao longo de três séculos, começando em 1175, apresenta uma mistura de estilos gótico e românico e apresenta um relógio astronômico do século XVI.
Sendo a maior praça pedonal da Europa, a Place Bellecour está rodeada de história, nova e antiga. Aqui você pode ver a estátua recém-renovada do rei Luís XIV, o Instituto Paul Bocuse e um memorial a Antoine de St-Exupéry.
Finalmente, terminaremos a nossa viagem em La Confluence. A singularidade da geografia de Lyon é demonstrada pelos dois cursos de água entre os quais o coração da cidade é construído; na confluência as duas águas se tornam uma. I can't say enough good things about Frank, the owner of Holland Bike Tours. It was pouring rain with thunder and lightning the day of our tour and we asked to reschedule the next day in the morning. Lyon is a great city to explore by bike with lots of bike paths and we really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Frank, was friendly and informative about the history of Lyon. The bikes were all new Dutch style e-bikes, which were very comfortable and easy to operate. My wife was a bit nervous at first having never ridden an e-bike, but with Frank’s reassurance and care she soon got the hang of it.

We didn’t go on the bike tour but rented the high quality Holland brand. So many cities have the standard rental bikes that are not good touring bikes but the Holland made the ride more enjoyable. We hired the standard gazelle and the e-bike. I must say how impressed we were with Frank who was very knowledgeable and flexible for our needs. He made sure we were outfitted with helmets and gave us all the information for touring Lyon, including his Kamoot tour route. I will look forward to another ride with Hollland!

Very warm welcome by Frank and the two guides, all bikes in prefect condition and all well explained by Frank, very flexible and supportive! He even organised the sunshine for our tour, at arrival it was raining. A great experience to better discover Lyon by bike, this special and beautiful city has a lot to offer. We had the privilege of two guides, both well prepared and well informed about the broad outlines concerning urban developments to the minute details concerning the years. We were a small group and our guide was very cool. Lyon is very bike friendly (some occasional cobblestone streets) and it was a very nice experience to be able to go from one place to another so conveniently!
