An intelligent Japanese guide, Yuta, made this small tour, just 5 cyclists, very interesting.
Directions to meet point were accurate. We had to take train and bus (35 min travel to) then opted to walk more and train return (40 min). We had Henry for our guide and he was excellent. Great historian and brought us to sites not often seen by tourists. No crowds. Bikes were easy to use and routes felt safe even with the opposite traffic directions (we are from USA). There were hills but we had time to take slower/caution as needed. Tour lasted about 4 hours with several great stops. Our teenagers loved it. Have some great photos but also don't want to spoil the surprises for you!
Shaun was great! What An amazing time! The bikes were a lot of fun! The knowledge we gained and the beautiful temples and gardens were wonderful!
This was the highlight of our Kyoto trip. Our guide, Yuta, was amazing and showed us unique, hidden spots where we were often the only people there. Highly recommend!!!
This was an amazing tour!! Yuta was our guide. His English is amazing and he is very well-informed about history. He took us to undiscovered, hidden spots that were a breath of fresh air in busy, touristy Kyoto. It was a really warm and we went to a stream in the mountains to cool off our feet. Riding the e-bikes was really fun too!
One of the highlights of our trip. Yuta was an exceptional, knowledgeable, and engaging guide who took us away from the touristy spots and shared to some amazing shrines, into the woods, and to taste original mochi. The biking was safe and the time flew by.
It was such an amazing experience. A great way to get insight into Japanese culture and history while seeing the beautiful city of Kyoto. Our guide Michael was very nice, made sure we were safe, and had an excellent knowledge of Japanese lifestyle and history. It was so much fun and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.
Thank you so much for this! Michael brings a lot of warmth and knowledge to every tour and we're really glad the day was such a memorable one. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
We spent the afternoon with Yuta and had a great time. We explored new areas of Kyoto and experienced how residents live day to day. From kids walking home from school, grabbing a snack at a 100 year old sweet shop to dipping our toes in a fresh water stream on a hot day - how refreshing. We’d highly recommend the tour and Yuta - he’s great!!
Thank you so much for this! Those little moments are what make the experience feel so different from a regular tour, and it sounds like Yuta captured that perfectly. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
A fun bike tour with a highly knowledgeable guide! It was so nice to get a break from the crowds and be taken to some of the "hidden" gems within the city. Getting to stop for some brown tea and mochi at an establishment that has been in business for over 1000 years was an extra surprise! Would highly recommend!
Thank you so much for this! A thousand year old establishment serving tea and mochi is hard to top, and we're glad it caught you by surprise. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
We spent the day with Yuta, and he was an outstanding guide. He was incredibly thoughtful in teaching us how to ride the bikes and was exceptionally knowledgeable about Kyoto. Rather than taking us only to the well-known sights, he introduced us to several beautiful, lesser-known shrines and shared fascinating insights into their history and significance. He also took us to a wonderful shop to experience mochi in its most authentic form, which was a real highlight of the day. Throughout the tour, Yuta went above and beyond, making sure we were comfortable, engaged, and enjoying every moment. I highly recommend Yuta to anyone visiting Kyoto. He made our day truly memorable.
Thank you so much for this! Yuta puts a lot of heart into every tour and it's wonderful to hear that came through so strongly from start to finish. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
