Sairemos da Marina do Great Salt Lake State Park.

Entrada incluída40 min

Great thing to do!!!

Tyler was our guide today. The guy knows everything! Answered numerous questions about the lake, Utah, mines in the area and, of course, everything about the lake. Definitely worth doing if you are visiting the area. Lots to learn and so beautiful. 5 Stars!!

It’s really important for...

It’s really important for travelers to know that there are a huge number of bugs over the water from the moment the boat ride begins. Unfortunately, this wasn't mentioned when we booked the tour or before we boarded, and I think it's something guests should be made aware of in advance. Our captain also didn't provide much information during the ride. Whenever we asked questions, the responses were very brief, and there wasn't much commentary about the area or the experience. After only about five minutes on the boat, the bugs were so overwhelming that we asked to be taken back to the dock. Unless you're comfortable being surrounded by large numbers of bugs, I wouldn't recommend this experience. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the money.

Hi Sonali, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry the bug activity impacted your experience. Because our tours take place in a natural wetland environment, brine flies are a normal part of the Great Salt Lake ecosystem during certain times of the year. We make every effort to set expectations in advance by mentioning this in our tour descriptions across our booking platforms. Before each tour, our captains also provide an update on current conditions, including bug activity, since it can change throughout the day. We also provide bug hats to help keep the flies away from guests’ faces and hair. On the day of your tour, our captain, Jake, was leading the trip. Jake is one of our most experienced captains and has received many five-star reviews for his knowledge and customer service. My understanding is that the bug activity made you uncomfortable enough that you requested to return to the marina shortly after departure. We completely respect that decision, but because the tour ended after only a few minutes, there wasn’t an opportunity to experience most of the lake or hear the full narration that is normally provided throughout the tour. For anyone considering this experience, we want to be transparent: brine flies are common around the marina and shoreline at certain times of year. They may land on you, but they do not bite or sting. Most guests find that once we’re away from the marina, the experience is very enjoyable, but if you’re especially uncomfortable around harmless insects, this may not be the best fit during peak bug season. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best.

Buoyancy and sheep.

Guy is quite impressive with his job. Fun, cheerful, very intelligent for sure, and personable. He even knew the very spot where the bugs would appear on deck like a tv remote. Really sorry for not tipping, didn’t have any cash. Thanks for the great memory!
