Brilliant experience well communicated and well thought out. A little confusing at times when they’re speaking both languages (English and Spanish) as sometimes you were listening out to make sure you weren’t missing anything but it’s to be expected when you’re in Mexico hence 5 stars! I did feel like I spent ALOT of money that day after purchasing the tour. For example in the Mayan Village after Tequila tasting I spent £136 on 3 bottles of tequila! Not looked at the quality of them yet. (if I’m able to I will update my review accordingly.) Life Jackets at the Cenote are MANDATORY. You will incur a $10 for 2 people. I ended up paying an extra $2475.20MXN on top of the listed Viator price for two people this charge includes the government tax of $63 USD (each) so total $143 (at current exchange rate) The whole experience was definitely educational I felt I learned a lot about the Mayans, hieroglyphics, numerology and astrology. Ofcourse being ONE of the 7 wonders of the world there are street vendors there. In my experience they will NOT approach you however, you will be told to avoid buying their product on the coach the reasoning will be told to you on the day. Bring sunscreen and water! It is a long day so I got picked up at 7am and got back to my hotel at 9:30pm. It gets very hot! Wear swimwear for the cenote and bring $100mxn for a locker should you use one at the cenote. All round fantastic tour and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Chichen Itza!
This tour was great. Our guide Rhett was knowledgeable and so kind and funny. We would have enjoyed a little more time at Valladoloid otherwise the whole thing was amazing
Esther was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable and interactive during the entire tour! Would definitely recommend!
Really awesome tour, a bit long but really cool. We brought our 7 year old, fun for kids, nice van, decent food, very safe. Swimming in a cave, cool show about the Mayan experience, guided tour of Chichen itza. Great value, everythings included except the tip.
The tour bus or I would say the van they arranged was very old with seats ripped and we sat at the very back and felt bumps throughout the way . Our guide was good speaks fluent English. If they had the better van I would have given 5 stars.
Its a long day. Bring snacks and money for shopping and tips. Everyone works so hard and they deserve the tips! It was an amazing experience!!!! Saul Rocks! The history and the knowledge that was shared by ALL the tour guides was incredible.
Overall this was a good experience. The shuttle driver was late so we were unsure if we had missed it or what happened but after contacting their rep, we were picked up shortly after. The excursion was very lengthy which was to be expected due to the distances being traveled. Jose & Carlos were great and we learned a fair bit more about the Mayan culture through this trip. In total we made 4 stops and never felt rushed to get back on the bus. Overall we had a good experience.
Overall it was a great trip! Our guide, Nisa, was extremely knowledgeable and informative and fun! The itinerary actually starts at Valladolid, then goes the Cenote, then stops at a Mayan community (where lunch is served), and then ends at Chichen Itza. Our only recommendations for other travelers would be to bring extra cash (pesos preferred) for the stop in Valladolid (shops, food, etc.), and to pay for the vest rental ($5 USD) and the locker rental, at the Cenote. Also, remember to bring your own towel for the Cenote, or you can rent one for a small fee. And bring water shoes for the walk down to the Cenote because it is basically a cobblestone path. At the Mayan community, you will have the opportunity to purchase genuine, handmade Mayan artisanal items, so bring extra money for that as well. Overall it was well worth the time and money and we enjoyed it very much.
This tour was very informative and a great experience overall. Our guide Tony was very knowledgeable and accommodated the groups preference of English and Spanish. The group got to see many interesting facts both as a guided part and also free time for us to venture ourselves. Overall a great experience
The transportation was substandard as we were crammed into a van meant for 10 and there were 15 of us plus the driver. We had a pickup at a different site, and they arrived an hour later while we just sat in the van. The driver and tour guide were very nice knowledgeable and pleasant. The lunch meal wasn't very good. We found a lot of bones in our chicken tacos. Gross! While we made the best of the day. I would say make sure you know exactly what type of transportation you will be in and the time frame of the day.
