It was a long excursion. We were picked up at 21.00 at the next day at 13.00 we were back at the hotel in sharm el sheikh. we started to climb at midnight. It was 5 km but it took around 3,5 till 4 hours to reach the top. The climb is not easy and not suitable for people who are not in good shape, have backproblems, leg problems, weak ankles. There is a guide who will help you and there are stops (small teahouses) The higher you go the more cold it gets. I would advise everyone to take warm clothing it is really cold. You can also rent a blanket for 4 dollar (only cash). The view with sunrise is beautiful! Tips: -bring food with you. There are streetanimals dogs (very skinny) who live at mount sinai and streetcats. So i hope whoever who read this bring extra food. -take warm clothing with you (wear a muts/ cap) -the toilets are very dirty, bring wetwipes with you bring cash money wear good trainers no slippery shoes (dangerous)
To escape....On November 6th I booked via WhatsApp a day trip to visit the monastery of St Catherine for December 15th. I contact today on December 11th the company to make sure that my reservation is properly taken into account. They tell me that they only have availability for Saturday, December 13th on the day of our arrival in Egypt and ask me the names of all the participants. information I provided them on November 6th! since then I ask them where our reservation went: no more answer, total silence. Company to flee not serious at all. Don’t leave through this travel agency so as not to ruin your holiday, I need two days before my trip to find a new serious company that will show us around Sainte-Catherine.
It was a nice and long tour to Mt. Sinai. The tour was well organized with a nice and informative guide. Especially our guide who accompanied our group during the mountain tour was helpfully engaged and always approachable. Unfortunately, there was not so much time left to visit the monastery
Fantastic and exciting experience.... very tiring climb in my opinion but worth it Very efficient tour operator
I have used this agency several times, from the trip to Mount Sinai last year, to transfers to and from the airport and also the visit to Cairo by plane. The agency has always shown itself organized and with an excellent Service of customer support. We all know that sometimes things go less well, but the effort and readiness of the agency, notably Asmaa, to solve the problem has been tireless and the agency deserves all our trust. Thank you
Super we were Moses mountain and catharin monastery, everything was great, even in dahab the food was good LG greetings biggi and Matthias
It is not easy hike, but when you come up you forget everything. You must take with you warm clothes because you need it when you come up. You also need to bring a change of clothes with you.
This excursion to Mount Moses and St. Catherine’s Monastery is an unforgettable experience that combines both spiritual significance and stunning scenery. The hike up Mount Moses is challenging but rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the Sinai Desert as you make your way to the summit. At the top, the sunrise view is nothing short of spectacular, making the early start worth it. The visit to St. Catherine’s Monastery adds a profound cultural and historical touch — an iconic place with incredible significance for both Christians and Muslims.
Wonderful company to travel with, really took care of us, very knowledgeable guide, excellent lunch included, very efficient trip in a/c minibus, prompt pick up from hotel, always kept in touch beforehand with updates, good to pay cash in our own currency. The monastery is very inspirational, 1500 years of continuous history, especially the artefacts and books in the museum. Well worth a visit, the setting is incredible. Chilly in spring so take a jacket.
Excellent excursion, very good guide with good explanations about the place and history. I am delighted with my excursion and recommend
