Steph did a great job accommodating our individual needs and was able to quickly adjust to some traffic issues. He also helped us ensure we had a great tour guide at Stirling Castle. Only one minor suggestion: replace rear shocks in the van! Thank you!
If ever you’re in Glasgow or surrounding area please consider a tour with Serca Tours and ask for JIMMY! He’ll come and pick you up. In our case from Greenock. Jimmy is the most friendly, fun and knowledgable man to have on your tour as a guide. His story’s are great, the stops on the way interesting……and he can sing!! 😆😆 We all had a great day and we wouldn’t have missed it for the world!! So: thanks Jimmy!!
Since I was solo and only person on the tour, Stef let me stay longer in some places for a few extra minutes. The locations were stunning and was all that I wanted to see.
Our tour with Jimmy was amazing! He is so knowledgeable about Scottish history and eager to share. We learned so much - more than we can ever remember. Sterling Castle was beautiful and we enjoyed the opportunity to see it. We were able to see the “hairy coos” up close - and even got to feed them. The highlands and Loch Lomond were beautiful. Jimmy gave us plenty of time at each location and truly personalized the tour. We recommend Serca Tours - and especially Jimmy - to see Scotland.
We were the only two on the tour! Any other company would have cancelled, but these guys went ahead, and we had a personal tour experience. It was lovely! Beautiful scenery, guide was knowledgeable and gave us a bonus whisky tasting. We loved Stirling castle, although a little more time there would have been nice. But we can’t fault the service, the friendliness, and the company. Would definitely recommend - family owned and customer-focussed.
I will start by saying that I’ve been using Viatour for years and this is the first time that we been totally disappointed with our trip. We were booked on a tour that promoted small group of “up to 16”. When we arrived on the dock our group of 4 was led to a small van. Another group of 14 was placed on a large van. We were told that our Tour guide was with the large group and we had a driver (who happened to be on his first day with the company). We proceeded with the 8 hr trip with no tour guide. At no fault to the driver, we had no guided history of any stops we made. Just on and off the van. Over and over. At Sterling castle we finally found the guide after his group of 14 had entered the castle- and asked for some history of the area. Total waste of an 8 hr trip. Sure hope this isn’t a sign of the rest of our booked excursions this year.
Thank you for your feedback; we appreciate it as it helps us improve our future tours. I am sorry to learn you were disappointed with your tour. Our tours are advertised as accommodating up to 19 passengers; however, if a tour is booked for only four individuals, we use a smaller vehicle, which still falls within our 'up to 19 passengers' category. Most of our tours are conducted in smaller vehicles for up to six individuals, where the driver also serves as a guide and provides commentary along the way. Unfortunately, on the day of your tour, our larger vehicle, which could have accommodated your group, was unavailable due to an issue. The only replacement vehicle had fewer seats, so we decided to provide a car for your group to ensure you did not miss your excursion. Cancelling the tour last minute was not an option we wanted to consider. You mentioned that your driver was on his first day, which is correct. We had an unexpected situation where a driver had to leave due to ill health, and we had to bring on a new driver. Thank you for your feedback regarding the driver; it will aid us in the current and future training of this driver. I hope this experience will not deter you from choosing Serca Tours if you visit Scotland again, as we would love the opportunity to redeem ourselves and change your opinion of us. Kind Regards, Chiara
We had complications with information from our printout of reservation as to where to meet our driver. We had to pay 75.00 for a taxi to go from cruise port of Greenoch to Glascow train station to meet our tour as per directions on our printout. Another bus driver at the train location finally contacted the tour contact and the driver and came to pick us up and had to reverse the tour to make it work. Lovely tour and enjoyed the amazing Stirling Castle the most. Hopefully we will be compensated for the wrong directions and our extra expense of the taxi.
Hello, I am really sorry to hear you travelled to Glasgow by taxi for pick up. However, when booking your tour you selected pick up at Greenock Ocean Terminal and we contacted the lead traveller through viator on 18th September 2023 at 2:42pm advising that we would pick you up from Greenock Ocean Terminal at 7:15am to ensure there was no confusion regarding pick up time and location. Due to the fact that we contacted you directly prior to your tour confirming pick up we do not feel that a refund is warranted. We hope you enjoyed your day with us despite the pick up confusion. Kind regards, Serca Tours
John did an excellent job. We were on the excursion with a very nasty couple. From the very start, they did not like things. John tried to calm them down. He took us to many different places and gave us ample time to see them. he also was involved in a very slight motor vehicle accident which involved his mirror, but he handled that quite appropriately. He was an excellent tour guide.
Thank you for your review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your day with us and hope that we might see you again someday. I am glad to hear John remained professional during your tour even though there were difficult clients on board. Regards, Chiara
This tour was fantastic! We were picked up from our cruise terminal and had a great day exploring Scotland. We were in a small group of 4 and our driver was awesome. We had plenty of time to explore at each stop and our driver even added a couple of additional stops along the way for us to explore. Our driver didn't narrate the whole way, but he did point out certain sites for us to look at and tried to make our trip fun and memorable.
Thank you for your review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your day with us and hope that we might see you again someday. Regards, Chiara
A very interesting tour and a great day. Our guide Cullen, (Not certain of the pronunciation) did a great job, enjoyed his company very much. I require my walker and our guide made certain it was always available. I’d recommend either less people attend these tours if the size of the vehicle remains this size. The vehicle was a passenger van. We had 6 passengers in the vehicle, this totally maxed the vehicle capacity considering any comfort level. After we completed our tour group who arrived slightly late, my wife and sister became moved to the rear of the vehicle while I sat in the passenger seat in the front. This separated our group with the three new quests sitting in the middle. My wife is extremely hard of hearing so this pretty well finished the tour for us from the start. To make matters worse the headrest in this vehicle was very large allowing only poor vision forwards. The locations visited were all very nice. Sterling Castle visit was posted as handicapped assessable. Well its not, in fact it can be very dangerous. The entrance is at a steep angle, the stone are extremely uneven creating a serious condition. I got up to the ticket sales area but appreciated that I couldn’t go further with great concern having to negotiate the trip back to the parking lot. I got a chance to talk with our guide and two of his friends. Great guys and enjoyed their presence. I’m a bit mixed with this tour. Considering it’s downfalls it was very expensive with not much reward. The countryside was fantastic, the guide was fantastic. The vehicle greatly limited what this tour could have been. The tour could use a reminder the entrance fee to Sterling Castle is extra also.
Thank you for your feedback, we welcome our clients feedback as this can help us improve future tours. I am sorry to learn you have mixed reviews regarding your tour. I am glad our driver and the other guides at Stirling Castle kept you company and included you in their conversations. I hope this would not deter you from using Serca Tours if you do visit Scotland again. Kind regards, Chiara
