No entanto, Guimarães é muito mais do que o famoso castelo do século X. A cidade velha engloba edifícios do século XIV, um antigo bairro judeu, estruturas defensivas e militares contra os mouros durante a Idade das Trevas e muito mais. Neste passeio a pé privado, você experimentará isso com um guia turístico local e experiente. Será incluído um coffee break.

There is some uphill walking involved to castle. Joan was fun, interesting and knowledgeable. We definitely saw the highlights of this lovely town.
Very personal and informative. Our guide Andre reached out a day ahead of time and kept a dialogue open with assisting us with transportation.
'Couldn't have been WORSE! 'Just my wife and me on our only full day there in this incredibly beautiful city and our guide was a NO SHOW!!! After waiting in the designated meeting spot for 30 mins. tried calling the local number provided by Trip Advisor and only after perhaps as many as 10 attempts did I get an answer. The person advised that the guide "just couldn't make it today" and offered no other explanation though he did say that he was sorry and that we would get a refund but I'm not sure even yet that such has come through. That day SOMEONE could've at least advised us the guide wasn't going to show! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME & A GREAT FRUSTRATION!!!

Our guide was wonderful so I give Andres a 5. The area to tour is small. It was not as exciting to see as other old towns we’ve been to. We were there for approximately 2-3 hours which was plenty of time. We enjoyed our time with Andres more than the tour itself.
Thank you very much for your review. Indeed, Guimarães is one of the smallest towns in Portugal, but also one of the oldest. Glad we covered the main highlights and a bit of outside the beating path.
