A visita guiada permite aos visitantes conhecer a evolução da engenharia militar na Itália dos séculos XIII ao XVII. Visitar o interior dos baluartes é como entrar nas ‘entranhas’ das Muralhas de Lucca que, aliás, nunca foram utilizadas para fins defensivos. As imensas abóbadas de tijolo das galerias, construídas com o propósito de esconder os pesados canhões de bronze, são espetaculares e de tirar o fôlego.

As Muralhas de Lucca são uma realidade única no que diz respeito ao urbanismo e arquitetura europeus. Construídas durante o Renascimento, hoje são um dos principais exemplos da fortificação italiana. O itinerário sugerido consiste em caminhar pelas paredes e também visitar o seu interior para descobrir as galerias e salas que há no seu interior, recentemente restauradas. A restauração devolveu um dos monumentos mais preciosos para os habitantes de Lucca e tornou a mudança do interior da cidade para o exterior, simples e muito sugestiva.

Excellent tour to learn about the history of the medieval walls of Lucca and how they evolved from centuries ago. Participants will discover what is underneath the great walking paths of Lucca and experience walking in the tunnels below.
This was an excellent and fun tour of Le Mura of Lucca. Paola was friendly and very knowledgeable. Impressive guide!
We visit this lovely old town after volunteering the Parkrun. We walked around this old medival town & visiting some old churches. Lucca is surrounded by old city walls with plenty of shops & cafe. Worth a visit for a day
The guide Gabriele was exceptional, the visit was interesting and well developed, it lasted even a little longer, 10+
Paola was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her city and explained how the history of Lucca is the history of its walls, first built in Roman times, reinforced and expanded in the Middle Ages, and rebuilt in the Renaissance in their present form. Now, when I look at the walls, I feel a special affinity for Lucca.
Very interesting experience with the guide Nadia talented and very prepared that has satisfied many of our curiosity.
The Lucca Wall is a very interesting subject, but a bit dull hiking, where the guide for a large part read the boards that were set on the walls inside the wall. The tour also got a bad start as the guide was late, so more participants had left when she arrived.
Wonderful tour with a very experienced guide who explained the historical significance of the walls to Lucca. Highly recommend.

Good afternoon, We suppose you weren’t at the right meeting point because you wrote “you were left in the cold under the rain “. Our meeting point is inside the Information Center. The tour took place with 2 persons . We are sorry that you didn’t see the colleague Paola who was scheduled on the tour. She left the Tourist information at 10:15 with the 2 clients and nobody else was there waiting for the tour and nobody called us from the Tourist information to inform us that somebody was waiting there for the tour. We didn’t receive your e-mail . Obviously you can ask for the refund. We are sorry for this inconvenient and hope to welcome you back in Lucca.
