We met up and walked thru Avignon, up to the gardens at Palais de Papes and Rhone overlook, then wonderful guided tour of Palais de Papes. We wrapped it up with two enjoyable glasses of local wine. (Afterwards we enjoyed a wonderful meal at restaurant recommended by our guide)
This tour of the Papal palace in Avignon was very informative and interesting. The guide was excelleent and easily understood. She showed us a beautiful overlook of the river before the tour of the palace. This tour involves lots of walking and steps so reasonably good physical condition is needed.

Very nice way to get to know Avignon and its history. Our guide, Matilde, was well informed on the history of the places we visited. We loved our treat of the glass of wine and assortment of cheeses at the tour’s conclusion. Be advised there is a good deal of walking. Also, if it’s sunny, bring a hat.

amazing castle, cool town, guide was friendly and his think accent wasn't that hard to understand if he slowed his speech

There are lots and lots of stairs inside the palace. That needs to be made clear (or maybe I just missed it). But the tour was very interesting, and we learned so much! Adam was a great guide and very helpful to my traveling companion, who was having some difficulty handling the many stairs. His commentary was jammed with interesting information, and he presented it in a very entertaining way.
