Excellent in all respects Thoroughly worthwhile- a great way to see and learn about his unique I can not recommend it more highly
The French may have been here and moved on but their legacy lives on. Tree lined boulevards abound the area of interest, with thankfully many historic buildings preserved. The feel of the area with a slight oriental influence makes it a quarter to linger. Bill is so full of fantastic knowledge and local experiences that any time spent with him is time well spent.
We had the best tour guide, Bill! He was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Bill provided just the right amount of information on the district’s history, behind-the-scenes stories, and insights into the current economy and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned so much from him. Aloha and Mahalo! 💕
I had such a great time on this tour! Bill was the perfect tour guide, knowledgeable and funny, with lots of interesting facts and personal anecdotes. The tour was about 2.5hrs long but with lots of breaks to sit down. I thought it was great value for money, much less expensive than many of the other tours and just as much fun! I am a solo female traveller and felt very comfortable on it. Bill sent the details of the meeting place in advance by WhatsApp including a picture so that I knew where to go. Highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful and informative. He was a great tour guide and we enjoyed getting the historical perspective of the tour.
I am so glad that we took this tour with Bill. Bill is knowledgeable and engaging. As a native Shanghainese, he got the inside scoop. We learned a lot about Shanghai’s history and appreciate this city more now. In addition, it was a very pleasant walk in the French Concession.
We did a last minute booking of this French Concession tour with Bill because our morning tour guide did not turn up, grrr... ;( However this tour more than made up for our earlier disappointment! Bill was entertaining, informative as we spent about 2 1/2 hours navigating the lesser-known parts of Shanghai, from how the French spent their early years here and how this has influenced so many beautiful parts of this city. Without Bill's narrative we would have walked past those historical buildings without knowing the history behind it! Highly recommended to those who want to see beyond Shanghai Disneyland, and all the other touristy places! :)
