We've been on many excellent Viator tours and find it unusual that we had a guide who was unsatisfactory, I think this was the first time. I can't give you the guide's name as we couldn't hear/understand it. However, she was somewhat introverted. We had difficulty finding her at the contact point because didn't wear or carry anything distinctive, and did nothing to appear as having the attention of the group or being the leader of the group. As the tour continued she had some prepared notes but said very little compared to most other guides. She also tended to turn and start talking before the entire group had caught up. The content of the tour itself was fine , but we could hardly hear much of her commentary. That said, our past experience has been good and we would not hesitate to book another tour run by Viator.

I have been on several walking tours in different cities in Europe, and this one was the best one by far. The credit goes to our wonderful guide Gulizebo (aka Serafina). She was wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable about local history, and she kept us entertained with informative stories about the sights and attractions.

We traveled with our friends and each bought the tour from our own phones. As a result, they sent two guides for the 4 of us and we had to split from our friends. While it was personal and our guide was great, we wanted to be with our friends and experience Lucerne together. As a result, we both had different experiences. Their guide was not good, barely spoke English and they finished before us. It was awkward.

The city was beautiful, however, the guide was soft spoken and not very knowledgeable of the city. Her English was a bit hard to understand and the guide needed more confidence and information about the history and landmarks of the city. We were disappointed with the tour.

I was so excited about this tour - the other people we met were great, but unfortunately the tour guide must have been new. She provided minimal information, was not well versed when questions were asked, and she would have cut the tour short had we not pushed her to continue (she was going to exclude one of the main destination points and agreed to take us after another participant showed her the online itinerary). Very disappointing - I learned more reading my Rick Steves guidebook.

We were looking forward to learning the history of Lucerne and did learn a little bit, but were surprised that our tour guide, who only had my spouse and me as guests, seemed shy and uninterested in the city’s history. She read from her notes a few times, and we did make it to some nice attractions, but most of the leadership was up to us. Glad for visits to the cathedrals and monuments, but I’m not sure this is the right line of work for this tour guide.

This was the shorter tour but it covered all the spots within easy walking distance. We learned many things from the long history and fun facts as well. The early morning start was great as the temperatures were comfortable and there were few other people/groups in the streets. Ana our guide was great with a great mix of historical and current info and personal anecdotes.

My family (two adults, two teens) did this tour on our second day in Lucerne and it was a really nice experience. The tour covers the highlights of the city, yet doesn't feel rushed. Our guide was extremely well-informed, and included interesting information about both Swiss culture and history. My two teenagers can sometimes have a "meh" reaction to walking tours (especially when it's hot outside, which it was that day), but they both enjoyed this tour a lot. Definitely recommend!

Lucerne is truly a beautiful city that exceeded our expectations and our morning walking tour with Arnie helped us get to the heart of the city. Thank you! 5 stars.
