Excursão a pé de Cambridge

I travelled with my 3 teenage children from London and we all thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with our local guide Dick. It’s not easy to keep kids entertained for 2 hours but he managed to keep them interested and answered all of our questions. Grateful for all the recommendations to have a nice meal. If you have a sweet tooth like us definitely ask your guide to show the best gelato place in Cambridge- we went there 3 days in a row and all the flavours were delicious and worth queueing up for.

Jo’s knowledge and obvious enjoyment in the history and environs of Cambridge was shared with us in a friendly and enthusiastic manner. We saw everything we wanted and more and came away feeling educated and having thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, especially Kings College and Chapel. Her explanations about the stained glass windows were so revealing - we could not have done it without her. A highly recommended experience.

Our tour guide Abby was amazing! She was local and incredibly knowledgeable and it was evident she was passionate about sharing her love for the city. Overall a wonderful experience!

It was the best educational experience of how The University of Cambridge has had a worldwide influence on the Arts and Sciences. All of the group came away with a wider knowledge and a thirst for further research on Cambridge and its history.

We had a fantastic guided tour of Cambridge with Dick! He did an amazing job navigating the heavy summer crowds to show us the quiet, stunning grounds of Pembroke and Queens colleges. Dick’s background as a retired headmaster shone through in his deep knowledge of local history and university culture. We were all genuinely sad to part ways at the end of the tour—highly recommended!

An interesting tour with an excellent guide. From our first email contact to the end Jo was informative and helpful throughout, helping us to decide timings and where to go, even for coffee! She is very knowledgeable across a range of aspects of Cambridge, history, architecture, the University … and obviously has a passion for her subject, at the same time being very friendly and approachable. She picked up on our interests and adjusted accordingly. If we wanted to arrange a further tour we would have no hesitation in using this company and asking for Jo. Highly recommended. We did a walking tour with Mark and the Footprints company. It was a day trip from London. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the rich history as well as the various colleges! Would thoroughly recommend this small group tour and guides. Excellent value for money as well

We discovered “Cambridge on Foot” amongst a great number of walking tour providers we found in a Google search. What attracted us was that the Dick and Jo were members of the Society of Cambridge Tour Guides. They are fully trained to the highest standards and have been examined by the Institute of Tourist Guiding. We submitted our date and we were soon contacted by Jo Sharpington. Jo could not have been more helpful right from the beginning. We spent a delightful 3 hours on Jo’s private tour where she informed us of fascinating information and anecdotes of Cambridge town and the many colleges. Jo is passionate about her tours smiling and laughing as she went while being cognizant of the needs of her clients. We would highly recommend Jo should you find yourself in Cambridge.
