Stonetown é um patrimônio mundial da UNCESCO desde 2000. Era o principal centro de comércio de escravos ao redor do Oceano Índico. Você pode ver muitos pontos importantes do abominável passado dessa época. A cidade é cheia de importância histórica na África Oriental. A arquitetura das ruas de pedras reflete as várias influências subjacentes à cultura suaíli, oferecendo uma mistura única de elementos árabes, persas, indianos e europeus. Mergulhe em todos os cheiros maravilhosos, cores e espetáculos que você só pode encontrar aqui através da mistura de diferentes culturas. O Jardim Forodhani é um pequeno parque da cidade histórica de Stonetown. O local está localizado ao longo da principal avenida marítima de Stonetown, em frente aos edifícios mais famosos da cidade velha, a House of Wonders e o Old Fort. Este lugar é muito famoso por moradores e turistas para se encontrar e relaxar, também fica muito ocupado durante a noite como um mercado de comida noturna.
No nosso caminho, passamos pela famosa Casa das Maravilhas, infelizmente o prédio está em construção e só podemos contar a história do lado de fora do prédio
O principal mercado de Zanzibar é uma colméia de atividades, com tudo. Venha desfrutar do cheiro das diferentes especiarias, frutas e legumes. Veja como as ofertas locais e os bugs no mercado tradicional de peixe e carne.

Walk through the old town with a Guide who points out what I wouldn’t have seen myself. Unfortunately, as I had already visited the Anglican Church and Mercury Museum and did not want to go to the souvenir shop, the tour lasted half an hour less.
This was really a great experience. We booked the tour the evening before, and the communication via whatsapp was smooth and we immediately found Abdi at the agreed meeting point. The tour guide himself (Massoud) was also great. He was knowledgable and an original local from stonetown. He took us to all the important sights and also explained the historical context, very nice! Over all this was great value for the price, and a generally interesting tour.
We carried out our tour individually. There's not much to see in the touted World Heritage sites. But you can take in the atmosphere of the city with some beautifully renovated houses. Stonetown is, of course, totally attuned to tourism and you are also constantly approached by sellers and traders who try to sell overpriced souvenirs or similar. At the department store Memories you escape it and you can look around in peace, taste and the prices are realistic. However, the real life of the inhabitants of Zanzibar City takes place anyway in the newer districts, which of course do not look as picturesque as the old town, and not in it. Since the climate is very hot and humid, you can enjoy a break in one of the quite numerous restaurants. You don’t necessarily have to do this in a restaurant of the well-known Forodani Gardens. After a few hours of walking around and sightseeing you are tired anyway thanks to the heat and we were relieved to leave the city again.
We arranged a tour of Stone town one day before and everything went smoothly. Our guide was fluent in English, answered all of our questions, and this was generally a very good, tailored experience. The price was good and clearly communicated from the beginning. We had no surprise stops to be sold souvenirs or other things, to the contrary. The highlight was a stop at a very successful local restaurant where the food was delicious and service was quick. Highly reccomend these guys!
I heard about Splash Tours in a FB group where they got a few recommendations. I know why - we went on a trip to Prison Island and Nakupenda + Stone Town. For the trips to the island we were accompanied by Abdi's younger brother who was very kind and provided us with interesting info, When we got back we took a strole around Stone Town with Abdi, who you can tell knows what he's doing and was great at showing us around the city. We loved it! Great job guys and best to you!
We loved our tour with Abdi who was a wonderful guide , knowledgeable and helpful and took us to all the interesting places as well as helped us find our place for dinner in the evening . We were so pleased we went with Splash Tours thank you
Did the stonetown tour with abdi. Great experience I would definitely recommend. Abdi is very knowledgeable when it comes to the zanzibar history which itself is very interesting. He also is very friendly and relaxed. I will definitely recommend the tour with splash zanzibar.
Abdi was amazing from picking us up from airport to dropping us off, taking us to the pcr test ,organizing the whole stone town and prison island tour! It was seamless and he was an amazing guide, he knew so much interesting information! Even took us to an amazing coffee shop because we said we loved coffee, he really went above and beyond! 10000% recommend !
I was a solo traveller and I went on their tour to prison island, Nakupenda island and then I did a walking tour. I was in contact with Abdi before I arrived and he was so helpful and lovely. When I arrived he picked me up from my hotel and we walked to the beach to meet the boat. Then I met with Hassan who was my guide for the day, I was the only one with Hassan but they found me other people to share the boat with to help save some money. Hassan had good English, a lot of great info and answered all of my questions on the prison island tour and the walking tour. The food was delicious we had fresh fruit, soda and water and lovely fries with fresh fish and seafood on the island! Hassan had great information to share on the walking tour and they even went above and beyond to help me find the bank to pay for my COVID test. Later on in the evening Abdi was kind enough to once again pick me up from my hotel and take me to the local food market (which was delicious) and take time out of his night to ensure that I had a memorable time. I would 100% recommend Splash as they are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable.
