Going up to the mountain is beautiful Nino our guide was outstanding The town of Taormina is incredible
We had a wonderful tour with Simone visiting Mt. Etna and Taormina! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Due to no one besides my family of four signing up, we had a private tour which was great! Highly recommend this tour and particularly Simone as a tour guide!
Amazing day at the erupting Mount Etna and beautiful Taormina. Our guide was very knowledgeable and super friendly. took care of us and our two young boys. I definitely recommend this trip.
Amazing tour. Mt Etna was awesome and the views from the craters are spectacular. Tairmina is a quaint town with great restaurants
Simone picked us up right at the ship and drove us right to Mt. Etna. When we got there, there were MAYBE three other people there. After exploring at our leisure, he drove us to Taormina and dropped us right at the entrance to the town. When we were ready, I called him and he met us right where he left us off, and took us right back to the ship. Very easy and enjoyable. Simone was great! Highly Recommend!
Mario was amazing! Despite a downpour to start the day, he was so positive that our day in Messina would be ok despite other operators canceling excursions. He ended up giving us a private tour to Mt. Etna where the sun shone as well as Taormina where we had plenty of time to walk around. He pointed us to an excellent restaurant where we had the best Arancini and Pizza and finished off the day bringing us to his favorite bakery for cannoli where we bought cannoli to take back to the ship.
The tour did not meet our expectations. We got an impression that the driver and the guide were doing this tour for the first time. The driver got lost and used google maps on phone when driving and didn't always keep the safe distance to vehicles in front. So we didn't feel too safe. The guide was most of the time silent. She didn't have much information about the Etna or Taormina to share with us. At Etna we stopped on parking lot/village where we couldn't see much. We had short time there, but we were not allowed to go walking closer the extinct crater or anything - just a parking lot and shops next to it. At Castelmola, close to Taormina she brought us as a group to one restaurant which served a good food - so no complaints about that. We have small group, but still the little guidance we got was with English and Spanish. The stories were about the same in both languages so I guess the Spanish speaking guests didn't gain much more information than we did. We got back to our ship in time so that is the positive thing in addition to good meal in this tour.
Dear guest, we appreciate the time you spent to write such a negative review and we are not surprised to receive it, as you started complaining as soon as you got off the ship, in fact you disembarked at 8, while the appointment, that you confirmed by message, was at 8.30, the time when the others disembarked; you then continued to complain about the roads, bumpy in your opinion, about the driver's guide, for over 20 years on the roads without ever an accident, about the weather on Etna (we are at 2000 meters and you cannot expect to find the Hawaiy Islands), that you could not visit the craters, but this takes 2 hours and was not included in the tour and we certainly cannot force others to wait; then you complained that the group was only 5 people, while the other 3 were delighted ..... I could go on and on but I'll stop here. To find out how the tour went I recommend reading the next review, which, ironically, it was left by the others on the same tour. A tip from a true Sicilian, think about enjoying life and the beauties of the world instead of complaining and whining about everything. All the best
We were travelling with a teen, so we wanted to find an experience that would interest him. We all loved the tour. Having our guide made it even better. He was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved living in the area. We were picked up from our cruise ship and dropped off in time. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Mario was a wonderful tour guide—very nice personality, knowledgeable, and on time. I had trouble walking on the slippery slope at Mt. Aetna and he held my hand and guided me on the walk. He suggested a good restaurant to eat at inTaormina, which was very helpful. It was like a private tour because there was only one other couple with us in his Mercedes vehicle.
