I enjoyed my green walk with Sam despite being one of the hottest days in London! He was an excellent tour guide - informative and engaging. We visited green spaces I had never heard of. Next time I have visitors I will recommend him.
An excellent and knowledgeable guide
I did two walks on very hot days which took us through the green spaces dotted around the City. Plenty of shade and ability to sit, which was extremely welcome. Our guide Sam was friendly, knowledgable and showed many interesting spaces, running over tome both days to fit everything in and ensure we got a good experience. I'd definitely recommend Sam and his walks and hope to do more in future.
What a fantastic trip through the green spaces of London, piecing together pockets of public space with different histories and purposes. I loved that Sam welcomed input from the group, to share with each other and to add to his own plethora of knowledge! He encouraged us to look up and look down, at the buildings surrounding us all the way down to the details of the pavement and gardens, talking about the infrastructure beneath our feet too. He kept the group moving but we never felt rushed so we were able to fit a lot in to a couple of hours.
I thought this was going to be very much like some other East End tours I had undertaken previously. However, this was completely different, taking us to new and unfamiliar places and providing new and interesting angles on their history. It was a complete surprise and revelation and Sam is certainly a most knowledgeable and gifted guide.
Highly recommend Sam’s 2-hour tour! He brought history to life, seamlessly weaving together the stories of wealthy and impoverished Jewish families, the local population, and the Huguenots. His pacing was perfect, and the info was highly engaging without being overwhelming. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, personable, and great at encouraging group interaction. A fantastic morning out!
Sam is an expert and entertaining guide who is great and engaging his audience. Highly recommended
During our walk through the City of Londen we learned a lot about the history and architecture of Londen. 2000 years of historie in a pleasant 6 hour walk. Sam kept us listening all the time. And there was room for discussion and personal input. The organized lunch and high tea made it compleet. Absolutely worth while. Thanks Sam.
I recently went on Sam Jacobs' walking tour of Architecture in the City of London. It was excellent! So much interesting information to absorb - and presented in a way that made it easy to understand and enjoy. Sam responded to all the questions we asked as we walked - sharing his extensive knowledge of the City and its' history. The time just flew by! I intend to return to many of the buildings - and review what I have learnt. Thank you Sam.
London Walks (walk.com) is always great. Sam was passionate and knowledgeable. The work was a different location to the the others and we really enjoyed it
