It was a little boring, to be honest-- and had to climb through construction on the street that could have been avoided. Probably just the guide we had...
The walking tour of Bruges was excellent, took us to places in the city we wouldn’t otherwise have gone to and we learnt many cool things about its history. Our guide, Martin, was brilliant, very informative, and personable.
The begining of the tor was very easy to find. Throughout the tour, our tour guide Louis was very funny and was an excellent story teller. The tour took us to some very interesting parts of the city and I was a very positive experience!
Fun way to orient ourselves to Brugge! We booked this when we arrived in town and it was fun as well as helpful to find our way around town.
Tour on August 5 with Maarten Desmet Maarten was entertaining and informative. We had fun! We also like the concept: free tour with tips.
We did the night tour and we loved it. Jonathan was an excellent guide: he made the tour very entertaining, showed us beautiful corners of the city, and shared a lot of stories and legends that made the experience even more special. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and he conveys that passion throughout the tour. Without a doubt, we recommend it 100%. Thank you very much, Jonathan!
Astrid was an excellent guide. Her knowledge of Bruges and ability to translate it into stories is both informative and very entertaining. We had a great time.
Nice walk, very entertaining
This was our second tour with Legends Free Walking Tour and it was such fun. Martin, our "spooky" tour guide was great fun and did a great job at showing us the dark side of Bruges. Unfortunately, it would have even been more fun if the sun set earlier for it to truly be an evening tour but that in no way makes it less of the "dark side" of Bruges. The tour wasn't too long, 1.5 hours long and Martin showed us a nice variety of the city's medieval, gothic and creepy side. It's best for anyone looking for a new angle on tours, not just history of the city but it's presented to you in a fun "stay on your toes" way. The tour is generally a free walking tour apart form the small amount you pay to the platform you booked through, but it also works on a "tips" basis. The tour, either way, was so fun and Martin was extremely engaging it was definitely worth every penny.
The Dark Side of Bruges walking tour was excellent and one of the highlights of our visit! My granddaughter & I loved it. When we met in the town square, our guide explained that because it doesn't get dark until around 10:00–10:30 p.m. during this time of year, the tour would be a little different than the traditional "Dark Side" experience. It actually made for a wonderful evening of exploring the city. Our guide was exceptional. His knowledge of Bruges' history, legends, and fascinating stories kept us engaged from beginning to end. He led us down charming, narrow streets and hidden alleyways that most visitors—and even many other tours—never see. One of my favorite parts was seeing the original wooden houses and learning how homeowners carefully restore and preserve them according to their original historical designs. We learned so much about the city's history and architecture while enjoying a unique perspective of Bruges. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bruges. It's informative, entertaining, and a great way to discover parts of the city that many visitors miss.
