Eliud is absolutely amazing from the detail of all his descriptions to being able to let us go at our own pace and not rush to even helping with some english for my father that isn’t fluent in spanish it truly felt less like a tour guide and more like going with a freind of family member that knows absolutely everything about machu picchu truly once in a lifetime experience and if possible you’ll wish you did it with eluid i also highly reccomend the walk up and down as it is truly a spectical My family ended up going 2 days busing up then walking down the first day and walking up then bussing down the second to get every kind of view haha Eliud es absolutamente increíble desde el detalle de todas sus descripciones hasta poder dejarnos ir a nuestro propio ritmo y no apresurarse incluso a ayudar con algo de inglés para mi padre que no habla español con fluidez, realmente se sintió menos como un guía turístico y más como ir con un amigo de un miembro de la familia que sabe absolutamente todo sobre Machu Picchu realmente una experiencia única en la vida y si es posible, desearías haberlo hecho con Eluid. También recomiendo encarecidamente el paseo arriba y abajo, ya que es realmente espectacular. Mi familia terminó yendo 2 días en autobús, luego caminando el primer día y caminando hacia arriba y luego bajando en autobús el segundo para obtener todo tipo de vista, jaja

I needed to book a last minute excursion to Machu Picchu. My husband and I came for a 3 week trip and I didn't realize that you needed to book Machu Picchu tickets months in advance. After looking at the government site or tickets are issued, I found it so difficult to navigate in order to just see what was available that might suit our needs. And, from what I can see 99.9% of the tickets were all sold out so it made it really difficult to find out what was still available. In desperation, I search the internet for Machu Picchu and found an option on TripAdvisors. I was a little nervous and skeptical to book at first, but the guide came through. It was entry only tickets, for the next day, and it worked out perfectly for our schedule. They communicated to me frequently to let me know what was going on with securing my tickets and then sent them promptly as promised. All in all it was a great experience and I'm so grateful that I got to see Machu Picchu while I was in Peru.

Viator responds and provides guidance, but I had a bad experience with the operator Haku Travel because I paid an overprice to acquire tickets for Circuit 2, and a day before, they informed me that it was subject to availability and that they had sold out. Consequently, I had to take Circuit 1, which was not of my total interest, and on top of that, it was cheaper, while I had paid for a different, more expensive service (Circuit 2). The person who contacted me from Haku Travel told me they would try, and finally, they said it was not possible to obtain tickets for Circuit 2, without even offering me a refund for the price difference between the tickets for Circuit 2 and Circuit 1. I want to highlight that during the purchase of this tour, the application indicated that Circuit 2 was available, and later I even received confirmations stating that I had acquired Circuit 2. Honestly, I felt deceived because I paid an overprice for Circuit 2, the most demanded among tourists, and it seemed that from the beginning I only had access to Circuit 1, having paid more for Circuit 2. As a side note, Anai, the guide, was tremendously kind, dedicated to us, and had a very good command of the history, the place, etc. Thanks to her, we had a great tour.

Way too expensive and poor service! I paid 190 euros for the ticket, bus, and guide. The best part was the guide, who was really very nice. The problems I had beforehand were: I bought the tickets 2 months in advance, but I only received the tickets the day before the event. And then they were also the wrong ones. So all in all, not recommended. Buy your tickets either through the official government website or on-site in Aguas Calientes.

The tour was amazing. Haku Travels did a good job once the tour day arrived. However before that they were very poorly coordinated with multiple guides messaging and asking for the information. Also they don’t respond with clarity unless you push them. Perhaps it’s a language issue but overall the experience went well

Very harrowing experience. Promised the clears paid for delivery were not delivered by the TripAdvisor agent The agent ‘Elmer’ advised it was too late for tickets to be delivered - which resulted in running to market square with our tour guide to purchase the tickets from the ticket office. Awaiting refund from trip advisor

Our guide, William, was incredible. He had such energy and passion for the history of Machu Picchu and the Inka culture. He provided facts about the culture, geography, geology, animals… everything! Our meeting time was 5:00am and he was there exactly on time. We communicated some in Spanish but his english is also excellent. We were so lucky to have William guide our tour.

Our guide Manuel was terrific and informative. Gave us great views and pics! We paid a little more than we would have liked for the tour but that’s because we wanted circuit 2. We booked 2 months in advance and nothing was available by any other method. Circuit 2 sells out many months in advance. Was well worth it in the end. Would def recommend to anyone.

The customer service department was extremely helpful. They took care of all the logistics by arranging my transportation and a guide. My driver, Fredy, was punctual, friendly, & knowledgeable. The tour guide inside Machu Picchu was nice too!

William was an amazing guide for Machu Picchu! Super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. He explained the history in a really engaging way, answered all our questions, and made everything feel smooth and stress-free. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. Highly recommend getting William as your guide—he made the trip so much better!
