This was an absolutely great experience. The cathedral was incredible. Beautiful inside and out. The headphone device was a bit confusing but managed to work it out in the end!! Also the virtual part was very interesting and gave you an Ariel view of a lot of the interior. Well worth the visit and the cost was reasonable.
The cathedral is lovely but 50+ euros for two of us spending about 40 minutes there is unreasonable. Originally I thought I had been lucky and secured a time for La Sagrada Familia! All very misleading on this website.
Such a beautiful space filled with religious history. And it is also an amazing escape for a while from the noise of the city as the courtyard is so serene and peaceful.
Don't be fooled... entry to the cathedral is free during worship and prayer times. If you want to access the terraces and see the sites, the official ticket costs 16 euros for adults and 8 for children up to 12 years old. Otherwise, I will buy the ticket for two adults and one child for 100 euros. I hope many of you read this to avoid making a mistake.
Buy the ticket at the Cathedral. This is not guided or structured. We pretty much wandered around. There was an option to listen but with out WiFi it didn’t work well. The tickets are ridiculously higher on Viator than at the actual Cathedral. Cathedral was beautiful.
The tour operator was responsive initially but the audio was very disappointing - it wouldn’t play after the first few short files - and the host then became uncontactable when I asked for a partial refund. Wouldn’t recommend spending the extra £/€ on the audio anyway and don’t get caught out thinking the cathedral means Sagrada Família (a basilica) (rookie error!). Also had to queue for ages, despite having tickets. Oh and even if you’re wearing longer shorts you need to cover knees (as well as shoulders)
It is a very interesting, fascinating church... the history behind it is also very interesting
Fabulous visit with self guided audio
The tour woman was kind however for the price paid for the tour it was poorly in information only 30 minutes of taking us through partial part of the Cathedral and left us to the main cathedral without information about the different expositions alone to wonder . 490 euros for 30 minute tour without even having being able to ask questions partial guide of the cathedral and left us without any direction or explanation in the historical site makes it a poor experience and expensive for the service rendered. I am kindly requesting your review for partial or total refund as per the poor experience tour. Thank you for your candor . Nicole Spirgatis
The self-guided tour for the Cathedral of Barcelona has been effective for us as we valued more the flexibility, the stress-free and exploring at our own pace approach. The self-guided audio enabled us to have the perfect balance of independence/freedom and insights. Will highly recommend.
