A Nine Arch Bridge, também conhecida como a 'Ponte no Céu', foi construída conectando duas montanhas pantanosas ao construir a ferrovia Badulla - Colombo. Esta ponte tem 300 pés de comprimento, 25 pés de largura e 80-100 pés de altura. É um dos melhores exemplos da construção ferroviária da era colonial no país. A ponte pode ser alcançada viajando 2 km na estrada Gotuwala a partir do centro têxtil Halpe na estrada Badulla Bandarawela. A área circundante tem visto um aumento constante no turismo devido à engenhosidade arquitetônica da ponte e à profusa vegetação nas encostas próximas.
O Demodara Loop é um loop ferroviário em espiral em Demodara e é uma peça de engenharia civil de ponta. A linha ferroviária corre por baixo de si mesma, serpenteia ao redor da montanha e surge de um túnel que fica abaixo da Estação Ferroviária de Demodara; esta linha férrea é considerada a única do gênero no mundo.
O início do caminho passa por belas e exuberantes plantações de chá verde cheias de senhoras que colhem chá e vistas deslumbrantes até o topo. O Pico do Pequeno Adão tem 1141 m de altura, é bastante fácil de escalar, com uma boa trilha até a subida. A viagem leva cerca de 2 horas e meia no total, incluindo o tempo para tirar fotos.

We had a enjoyable and comfortable day trip. Timely picked up from our hotel. Our guide/driver Lal Kumarage took excellent care of us. Drivers were fantastic given the traffic and weather conditions. The locations visited did not require entry fees so not sure how it’s an inclusion. No WIFI or water was provided and we had to pay $30 extra for a tuk tuk to the bridge because the van couldn’t go past a certain point. Ella and the other locations were beautiful but this is just a transport service and probably would be better off booking a driver opposed to this day tour.
Unfortunately, this tour was a huge disappointment and by no means what was promised on the website. For €235.65 we expected a comprehensive day tour with several stops and sights – instead we were only driven from Kandy to Ella, only a tea factory we saw. At our request at the end of the trip, whether we would at least visit the Nine Arches Bridge, we were advised to do so at our own expense the next day with a tuk-tuk. Only after urging, because this was supposed to be included in the tour, we were organized a tuk-tuk. For what was ultimately offered, we could have just taken a taxi for a fraction of the price. This tour was absolutely not worth their money and I cannot recommend it.
This tour came about because we had a Kandy to Ella train booked and it was cancelled at the last minute. The company agent worked really hard late at night to sort us out for the following morning. The trip was modified to accommodate our needs and the price adjusted accordingly. That’s pretty good service by anyone’s book and shows that this firm won’t leave you in the lurch.
This is a highly recommended trip to learn about the best teas in Sri Lanka, the most beautiful mountain views, and the interesting towns and delicacies along the way. My guide, Mr. Randika, is very good. He is very professional and arranges the schedule of the day very reasonably. Before the heavy rain, he showed me all the scenic spots that needed to be hiked. His driving skill was so good that he took me through the fog and sent me back to the hotel safely. He is very familiar with the scenic spots along the way and stops at every place worth taking pictures.
Drive from Kandy to Little England the highlight - really beautiful. Also enjoyed the drive to Ella and visiting Nine Arch Bridge but heavy rain unfortunately ( fun to experience monsoon but not so good for sightseeing). Everything well organised and felt safe and well looked after. Longish day but well worth it
We had an amazing day in Nuwara Eliya and Ella with Kushan! He is very warm, friendly and accommodating guide! We highly recommend him!
The tour went well and the view was breath-taking! It was totally all worth it and the driver was nice as well. Had a lot of fun!
