We went as a family of four with two sons in college. They are hard to impress. The cruise ship impressed them. They liked the freedom to come and go. They would explore the ship and report back about the sun deck or the lounge. The guide was engaging and didn’t lecture. He told stories about the pharaohs like they were celebrities. Ramses II was basically a rock star to them now. The sleeper train was a highlight for the boys. They thought it was cool. The Grand Egyptian Museum was huge and they appreciated the interactive displays. The admission fee was covered. The length of visit was just right. The atmosphere was impressive. The crowd size was not a problem. The staff on the ship were friendly and the boys practiced their Arabic with them. The best part of this trip was seeing my sons engage with a culture so different from ours. They asked good questions. They were respectful. They complained less than usual. That is a win. This tour is best for families with older kids. It keeps everyone interested without being childish or overly academic.
I traveled with my wife and we are both vegetarian. We were a bit worried about food options in Egypt. The cruise ship handled it well. The chef came to our table the first night and discussed our preferences. Every meal after that had a labeled vegetarian option. Sometimes it was the best dish on the buffet. The guide also helped us find vegetarian street food in Aswan. Falafel and fool. Delicious. The sleeper train offered a vegetarian meal that was acceptable. The Grand Egyptian Museum cafe had a salad bar. The admission fee was included. The length of visit was fine. The atmosphere was pleasant. The crowd size was moderate. The staff at the hotel in Cairo remembered our breakfast order. This tour is best for travelers with dietary restrictions. They take it seriously. We never felt like a burden. We never went hungry. That is more than we can say for other trips we have taken. We will recommend this tour specifically to our vegetarian friends.
I took this tour with my best friend. We haven’t traveled together since we were in our twenties. We are now forty five. We were worried we had changed too much. We hadn’t. The cruise ship brought back the same easy rhythm. We stayed up late talking in the lounge. We laughed at the same things. The guide was excellent and we both loved the sound and light show at Philae. It is a bit cheesy but we loved it anyway. The sleeper train was a nostalgia trip. We used to take overnight trains in Europe. The Grand Egyptian Museum is incredible. We took a selfie with Ramses. The admission fee was included. The length of visit was perfect. The atmosphere was celebratory. The crowd size was fine. The staff at the museum were patient with our many photo requests. The best part of this trip was the realization that some friendships are timeless. You can go twenty years without sharing a room and then spend ten days together and it feels like yesterday. Egypt was the backdrop but the friendship was the main event. We are already planning our next trip.
I was on a business trip extension so I only had four days but I added this tour because I was already in the region. The communication before the trip was excellent they answered my emails late at night which I appreciated. The domestic flight option saved me time and I met the group at the cruise ship in Luxor. The ship was comfortable and the WiFi worked well enough to check emails which was a relief. I didn’t expect to enjoy the guided parts as much as I did. Our guide in Luxor was very knowledgeable but also brief he didn’t ramble. He pointed out the graffiti on the columns at Karnak left by ancient tourists which I found hilarious. The highlight for me was the hot air balloon ride over the West Bank. It’s an extra cost but worth it. Seeing the temples and the green strip of the Nile from above gave me a perspective you can’t get on the ground. I met a few other solo travelers and we had dinner together on the ship. The staff were professional and didn’t hover. I would recommend this trip to colleagues who want a cultural experience without the backpacker vibe.
