Great escape from the city and we had fabulous weather! The crew was amazing. Very engaging……great commentary!
Lovely trip to Inchcolm Island beautiful place to spend time at. Voyage was very smooth and the crew were very kind and helpful. Especially the Dutch man (sorry did not get his name) who chatted to each visitor and pointed out the sights. Learned a lot about the history of the area. Thank you
Excellent morning, the whole crew was really great, I recommend! And the island of Inchcolm is magical
Lovely boat ride. Thankfully calm waters. The only negative was the commentary which was overload. Yes tell us about points of interest but waffling on for almost the entire tour was tiresome and quickly we started to switch off which was a shame as I’m sure we missed some relevant information. Crew were very friendly and informative.
Great Choice to book the first sail of the day at 11am. Arrived at 1030, and were able to park quite close (Parking is a premium in South Queensferry) Boat was not full but busy enough to have a buzz. Staff attentive and pointing out sights and points of interest.
Lovely tour and was a lovely, relaxing evening to view the bridges from the boat. Missed seeing the puffins, but I can always come back and do it again in June/July. Lots of seals and birds entertained us, though!
Good experience I would recommend
My family had a fantastic boat trip to Inchcolm Island with Forth Boat Tours. From the moment we collected our tickets to being welcomed on board, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Every member of the team interacted so kindly and enthusiastically with both myself and my children, making us feel at ease from the start. Although the weather wasn’t on our side, we still had a wonderful time thanks to the excellent staff. When the rain became heavy, we were able to sit inside the spacious boat. Both the adults and the children really enjoyed the commentary, and it was lovely to hear the children picking up interesting facts and looking at the sights being pointed out. When the weather improved, we sat outside looking at the amazing views while enjoying the coffee and hot chocolate we purchased on board. Very relaxed and enjoyable We had almost two hours to explore Inchcolm Island, and the crew made sure everyone knew exactly when to return for boarding, so everything was very well organised. The Island itself is fantastic to explore, with amazing views and history. The children were excited to get back on the boat . On the way back, the boat took us for possible sightings of seals and sailed beneath all three Forth bridges. We all had an amazing time and would highly recommend Forth Boat Tours. Even in the rain, there’s plenty to enjoy, and the friendly staff made the whole experience memorable.
Prepare for erroneous information about departure point (imparted several times with no correction, with no apologies). Brace yourselves for long walk to boat with no advance intimation. Take a book to read. The commentary is recorded, inflexible, corny, wordy, inaudible and inaccurate. The voyage is long and tedious.
Great trip with Forth Boat Tours out to Inchcolm Island. The 7 children aged from 4-10 had a fantastic time. They explored the Abbey, played on the beach and did some litter picking! The boat trip was great. The staff spent lots of time pointing out the sights and the animals. They answered 100s of questions. The kids even got to meet the captain which was very exciting! The view of the 3 bridges lined up is spectacular. A great trip for families.
