Dia das Dunas Marinhas: Cruzeiro de Catamarã e Passeio pelas Dunas de Sandwich Harbor

My girlfriend and I did the combo tour — Catamaran Cruise and Sandwich Harbour — and it turned out to be one of the best days of our entire Namibia trip. We were picked up at our guesthouse around 07:30 and headed out on the cruise. The boat was fairly small, which we really appreciated: instead of being one of fifty people on a big catamaran, you get a much more personal experience. Plenty of space, plenty of time to take everything in. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Back at the harbour, Andrew was already waiting for us with his 4x4 — and this is where the day went from good to unforgettable. He drove just the two of us all the way out to Sandwich Harbour and made the whole region come alive. He explained the landscape, the wildlife, the way the desert meets the ocean, going into real detail and showing us things we honestly never expected to see. You could tell he wasn't just running through a script; he genuinely knows and loves this place. On top of that, he took the time to give us practical tips for our own self-drive around Namibia, which was above and beyond anything we expected from a tour guide. If you're considering this tour: do it. And if you can, ask for Andrew. He's the reason this day was truly one of a kind.

Pickup was late but the overall experience was worth it. Especially props to Riaan for his amazing touring around Sandwich Harbour, definitely the highlight of the trip and he went above and beyond to make it feel special.

Our guides Christel / Volker have made our excursion very special with interesting facts and historical background. We were particularly impressed by the ride on the dunes with Volker. Throughout the whole, secondly adventurous, journey we felt very safe and well looked after. Good photo spots, insider knowledge and fun on the job have rounded off the afternoon wonderfully. Overall, we had a great day! The tour on the water was not a tour by catamaran - as announced - but still a nice experience. Since we were only 6 people, this was very relaxed and cozy. The seals were an absolute highlight. Unfortunately, we haven't seen any pelicans. The afternoon tour was awesome! We were properly driven through the dunes - that was awesome!!!

Brilliant both the boat trip and sandwich harbour

This full-day Marine Dune Day tour was the absolute highlight of our Namibia trip! It truly delivers the best of both worlds: a relaxing yet exciting catamaran cruise in the morning with dolphins, seals, pelicans, and stunning coastal views, followed by an exhilarating 4x4 dune drive to Sandwich Harbour in the afternoon – driving along the edge where the ocean meets towering dunes is unforgettable. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish – seamless transfers, good timing, and no stress at all. Our skipper Crystal on the catamaran was knowledgeable and fun, making sure we got great sightings, and our driver Volker in the dunes was super friendly, attentive, skilled, and full of interesting info about the landscape and wildlife. Highly recommend this combo if you want adventure, nature, and zero hassle – it exceeded expectations in every way!

We had an absolutely outstanding half-day Desert Dunes & Dust tour, and it exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Riaan was a truly exceptional guide. His experience on the dunes was evident from the outset. Getting momentarily stuck in the sand at one point only added to the adventure—and watching him recover the vehicle effortlessly, without any external assistance, was a clear demonstration that experience genuinely matters out there. He took us to places we never expected to see, making the tour feel exclusive and well thought through rather than a standard route. Throughout the drive, Riaan kept the conversation flowing and shared deep knowledge of the area, its history, and the surrounding environment—something we particularly appreciated, as we arrived knowing very little about the region. The energy among all guests was fantastic, with everyone clearly excited and engaged throughout the experience. Coordination with his colleagues, including Gérard who managed part of the group, was seamless and professional. The day was rounded off perfectly with a lovely lunch, including thoughtful and special catering arrangements for us, which was greatly appreciated. In short, this tour delivered far more than promised. If you are looking for a dune experience that is authentic, expertly guided, informative, and genuinely memorable, this is the one to book.
