Allam was very helpful and wanted us to ask questions if we were wondering about anything. He took us around the slum area in a very good, safe, and respectful way, and we had a very exciting tour with him. The train journey in particular was very interesting with open doors

A fantastic tour provided by our superb guide, ‘D’ (Dawad) who brought an authentic, local flavour to the whole experience. I highly recommend this tour for an insight into a side of Mumbai off the beaten tourist path! A huge thanks to D for looking after us so well!!

I had a false idea, and was delighted by the visit. I saw misery there and not at all the people working hard, are very respectful. Dharavi is many ecological trades, only recovery of what is thrown away, lessons to give to some... living conditions are difficult but everyone contributes their part to the building... Beautiful lesson in community living, in respect for values. Delighted by this tour, the guide who lives there is TOP

This was one of the most memorable and educational tours I’ve taken, thanks to my amazing guide, Alam. I happened to be the only participant for this time slot due to the weather, so I especially appreciated how courteous and thorough he was during this insightful tour. While weaving through the maze-like paths, he explained what life is like there as only a resident of the neighborhood could. Also, watching people maneuver their way through a chaotic intersection with no working traffic lights was fascinating. I’m grateful that Alam let me watch this as long as I did.

We visited yesterday and our guide Dinesh was excellent. He was punctual, caring and had an encyclopaedic knowledge of Dharavi and everywhere we visited on the trip. Unfortunately the Dabbawallas were on holiday due to a national holiday so Dinesh kindly took us to a flower market instead which did not disappoint. He also provided us with all the key information about the Dabbawallas and he showed us where they would usually be at Churchgate Station. We absolutely loved the train ride to all our locations and Dinesh was full of brilliant advice re navigating the train. Dharavi was a humbling experience. We were greatly struck by the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the people and Dinesh was an excellent guide. He is greatly liked and is hugely respectful of all the people we met there and advised us of when it was appropriate to take photos. The Dhobi Ghat was fascinating and again we learnt so much. Dinesh has so much pride for his city it was an absolute joy to spend time with him. The trip communication was fantastic and I would highly recommend this tour. It was an experience we will never forget and great value for money.

Our tour of Dharavi, Dhobi Ghat, and the Dabbawalla system was an eye-opening experience, largely thanks to our exceptional guide. True Mumbai and true India. It was very touching. The emotions I felt were really strong. This trip changed my perception of India.

My guide is Alam is such a very good guide. He’s very chill and can answer all my questions. You can get a lot of information from him. I highly recommend. This tour is eye opening of the real status of Mumbai.
