we made a tour with Lino and it was a beautiful expercience. He is very polite and funny. When he describes the island you can see that he makes it with a lot of passion. We will surely do it again next time!
As the tour is guided according to your preferences you will See the best places around the Island. I reall enjoyed it.
Great day with the guide lino the visit explanations in French the top good group also to do again.
Great tour around the Island. Loved the fishing village and all the beautiful mountain views. Spencer (our driver/guide was very knowledgeable about the Island. He also had a wealth of knowledge on Madeiras plants, flowers.. If your reading this Spencer, the place we were looking out for was on the seafront at St Vicente. Xapa grill 2. My Mums friend made contact and we will meet them for dinner after 33 years! Thank you.x
The extreme care and sensitivity with autistic boys. The patience to stop a few times to calm the boys. Explain the details of the route, the names of plants and places several times.
I left on time and came back on time. The guide spoke French. Very friendly and kind. I discovered abundant and colorful nature, even in January, and taste the local fruit, passion fruit, in the wild. A real discovery. The view was exceptional, as was everything else on this island. The conditions of the hike were good and it went perfectly. It was very different from the usual sightseeing excursions, but that's what I was looking for. I'm very satisfied.
I went on 4 Green Devil tours--3 full day and one half day--the full day being jeep off the road tours. I booked the trips from the travel company that I used to book the trip to the island so I only read what was given as a description of the tours from that company. I say that because I had an expectation of what a four by four ride would be by jeep and that expectation was not what I received--I did not expect a "thrill" ride which is what the off road was. I expected to go off road and that it would done a a slower pace in order to see the wilderness--what I got was a driver Nelson, that drove as fast as he could in order to get the biggest thrill to the customers. This meant that I held on to anything I could to keep from being thrown all over my fellow passengers and because you were bouncing all over the place you could not see the country side to enjoy it! I would have rated this a 1 star but, because maybe it was my fault for not knowing what an off road venture is, I gave it something in the middle, because if that is what you want then you have a 5 star. The two jeeps I rode in were old, not comfortable, dirty and had no place to put a back pack etc., you had to hold them on your lap. One of the jeeps had seats across the back that faced each other for 4 people--fortunately I did not have to set there as they looked very uncomfortable with knees to knees and hard seats and a low ceiling. I did have an excellent tour with Nuno, he brought the van he liked which was still a 4x4 but was very clean, lots of room and very comfortable. Fortunately for me I was the only one for that tour and Nuno agreed that with the weather that the off road would not have much of a view so we did other things--much better! I also did the half day with a different driver who was very nice--heavy English accent--but again a old jeep but I was lucky again to have the front seat next to the driver. The half day was not worth it, it was to see the vineyards and a wine tasting--well I had seen vineyards on the other tours as you drove by and that is all you did with this one--drove by. The wine tasting was just that--you got to taste 3 flavors of the wine and then could buy all kinds of them in the sales shop. I had expected to visit the winery and learn how they made the wine--that does not happen--it is a sales outlet only. So, if what you want is ruff and ready and don't mind being bounced around in an old jeep then ask for Nelson---you will love it. If you want to see and enjoy the country side and get to adjust the tour with the weather then ask for Nuno and you will love it as well.
Dear Mr. Thomas, Thank you for comming with us and for your rate. If you didn't like the tours, I'm sure you would cancel instead of buying 4 tours. You didn't book directly from our website, so I don't know the information that you get and if they advertise you that was "off road". This is the reason that we have 4x4 vehicles 4WD, otherwise we would have normal cars 2WD. About the spead of your guide, I spoke with him and I apolgize, but as you can see on other reviews, the customers have a good feedback of him. Next time you can ask him to go slower. Our 4x4 are not old, and is the ones that we have on our website. We have them as they are reliable and never broke down or got stuck on the off road, and some clients when they book a "4x4 tour", they want to do the "thrill" as you said, but this is the only way, that you can enjoy a more "reserved" tour avoided the crowds of normal coach / mini-bus excursions. I'm glad you had a great time with Nuno., All the best, Regards.

Great guide, lots of fun and very personable. The tour itself was spot on with lots of interesting points and stops.
