A primeira vista da excursão é a Grande Mesquita do Sultão Qaboos, que é verdadeiramente uma obra-prima da arquitetura mundial. Levou 6 anos para erguê-lo e em 2001 foi aberto com sucesso. Esta mesquita é um tradicional edifício islâmico leve feito de arenito e mármore. Tem 5 minaretes - um minarete principal e 4 laterais que criam um aspecto distintivo especial. O design interno é rico em mosaicos, enormes tapetes persas artesanais e candelabros decorados com cristais.

Bait Al Zubair é uma fundação cultural que começou inicialmente com um museu privado que abriu suas portas de madeira esculpida ao público em 1998. É financiado por seus fundadores, a família Zubair. Em 2005, a família criou a Fundação Bait Al Zubair como o braço cultural e social da empresa familiar, The Zubair Corporation. A Fundação gere o espaço cultural e desenvolve projetos relacionados com a cultura e o património, as artes, a comunidade, a história e a edição. Bait al Zubair exibe a coleção de artefatos de Omã da família que se estende por vários séculos e é considerada a melhor de propriedade privada. Os seus artefactos etnográficos reflectem competências herdadas altamente especializadas que definem a sociedade de Omã, tanto no passado como no presente. É um dos ícones arquitetônicos do país e, em 1999, recebeu com orgulho o Prêmio de Excelência Arquitetônica de Sua Majestade o Sultão Qaboos, a primeira vez que foi concedido em Omã.

We had an amazing tour discovering Muscat. The beautiful Opera House, Mutrah Fort, Museum and Palace, and the incredible Muscat Mosque. It has to be seen to be believed. Our tour guide Mahmoud was so informative, and gave us a wonderful introduction to the history of Muscat. Mahmoud is an exceptional guide. A great ambassador for his country. We enjoyed this tour very much.

Mohammed Aldighaishi was the guide for our group and did a great job, his great personality lifted the tour to another level. He also gave advice on fair prices for the stop at the souk. Very excitingly designed, Mohammed Aldighaishi speaks perfect English, is super friendly and responsive to all concerns. I would book the tour with him again immediately. My wife was thrilled too.

This tour was very well managed by the lovely Mohammed Aldighaishi who was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. It was wonderful to get to know more about Omani culture and traditions and how better to do that than through an native Omani?! The tour highlight was the Grand Mosque for me which was truly spectacular. We had a lovely tour group from different parts of the world - we all got on well.
