Lovely day visit to the Island/City of Korcula. Lots to look around and plenty of restaurants/bars on the City walls. Lots of boats coming and going. Lots of people swimming in the harbour, one guy snorkel fishing. Waters absolutely a clear azure blue. We were having a drink later in the week by the car ferry to Korcula at Orbic and about 40 Ducati motorbikes turned up so Island good for motorbikes as well.
Great experience and added delightfully to the overall Croatia sightseeing tour. Highly recommend this tour!
Positive reviews have encouraged us to book this tour. Expectations were disappointed as the timing was not respected at all, in the guide we talk about 10 hours as the duration of the tour while we left at 7:40 from Dubrovnik and returned at 16. Much time was deducted from visiting the various places of interest: The first stop, Ston, was a very short stop of 30/40 minutes. They let us in to the salt pans without giving a bit of information about it, the staff at the entrance told us "go for a ride to the shed", arrived there some gentlemen told us that we would not see anything because that day they did not have much to do, if we had come the next day we would have been luckier, in the meantime we had paid the entrance fee, completely useless. The second stop was Korčula, reviews speak of a 3 hour stop, we were given only 2 hours and 15 minutes, it was a totally illegitimate race against time. When we arrived at the tasting site, in fact, the table was marked "reserved for 2 people (Lea travel) at 15:30". We arrived at 1:40, so the numbers don't add up, do you think? We were hoping to relax a little 'at least sipping wines, but at the last taste the driver came to check and hurry, when we went out he already had the engine of the car running, it was clear that he wanted to return as soon as possible. We are very disappointed, it was supposed to be a relaxing day instead we spent more time on the car than visiting places, I would advise against this tour, you can spend your money better, if you are interested in wine tasting keep in mind that on this tour is offered that base at the Matusko Winery, with 4 wines (one white, two red and one dessert), which would cost you about 7 euros if you went on your own.
We loved every minute of it! Korcula is stunningly beautiful, the winery we stopped at on the way back to Dubrovnik was excellent and the drive was incredibly scenic. Our driver and guide was super knowledge and passionate about the region and Croatia. Can't wait to go back to Croatia and see more.
The Wall in Ston Information given by tour guide was unrelated to the tour. Marco Polo”s home closed for renovations - no warning.
We are sorry that the client did not fully enjoy the trip. Korcula is a really beautiful island. Our guides and our entire team strive to do the job as professionally as possible. We have not been informed about the closure of the Marco Polo Museum building.
Brilliantly executed half day trip, a lovely and informative driver/interpreter. The locations visited were fantastic! Don't miss out on this!!
We did several things with Lea Travel, Korčula was our favorite. We booked with Mirso in Lapad and our guide was Kreso. We visited arboretum in Trsteno, had oysters in Ston went to a winery and went on a beach on Korcula. Pretty packed day for a decent price. Thank you guys!
Excellent tour. Became a private tour due to current situation but much appreciated that they kept our booking. Guide was great and answer any questions and made sure we had sufficient time at the stops.
I believe this is the tour we took though “Sombrero tours”. Korcula is excellent and very much worth the visit. This particular Sombrero tour, we booked in the Old Port of Dubrovnik. The booking was simple enough, and the agent was very helpful. He told us where and when to meet our ride 2 days later. We got to the site just before the appointed time, but had a hard time identifying where our ride was. After a stressful half hour, waiting for the driver to identify us, we finally got on the right transfer to a bus a few miles away (we didn’t even realize we’d be on a big bus). Our guide, Hanna, was not what we’d hoped for. She was fairly low key, and seemed to just keep repeating rather basic, obvious facts. The stop at Ston was quick, and we would have explored more, if we had more time, but our goal was Korcula. Once off the ferry, Hanna gave us a quick overview of the town, and set us off on our own. We loved this small city (like a quieter, mini Dubrovnik), and had a decent amount of time here. The vineyard on the way back was a bit disappointing. We’d hoped for winetasting in the great outdoors on this beautiful day, but ended up in the wine cellar with a lackluster guide. The drive back was beautiful, as we returned along the coastal route. This was a great day all in all. The low rating is for the quality of this particular tour.
Korcula is a beautiful, picturesque and quiet island. Just worth the drive there, fantastic landscapes. A nice conclusion was the wine tasting. Marco was a very competent, nice and relaxed tour guide.
