Nossa primeira parada é um belo e essencial oásis natural que suporta mais de 45 aldeias circundantes. Depois de explorar este lugar pacífico, continuamos para uma aldeia abandonada do século XVIII, onde você ouvirá a história fascinante por trás de por que toda a comunidade misteriosamente deixou.
O forte Khaba foi construído por volta dos séculos XIII e XIV pelos brahminos Paliwal, uma comunidade próspera conhecida por seus sistemas avançados de gestão de água e agricultura no deserto. O forte serviu como um centro defensivo e administrativo para aldeias próximas. No início do século XIX, a comunidade de Paliwal misteriosamente abandonou toda a região, incluindo o forte Khaba e aldeias como a aldeia de Kuldhara. De acordo com as lendas locais, os moradores saíram durante a noite devido à opressão de um poderoso ministro de Jaisalmer. A verdadeira razão ainda é debatida pelos historiadores.
A partir daí, continuamos de jeep para conhecer nossos camelos e começar um relaxante passeio de camelos pelas dunas de areia dourada do Deserto de Thar. Depois de uma hora de caminhada, chegamos a um lugar tranquilo entre as dunas onde estabelecemos o nosso acampamento. Desfrute de lanches e chai tradicional indiano enquanto assiste a um pôr-do-sol do deserto. We had the most amazing time on this desert safari. We decided not to stay overnight and just went in the afternoon and came back to Ali’s hotel at night. We were quite apprehensive about doing a camel safari as was worried about it being touristy but it absolutely wasn’t. It was so authentic and the camels seemed really well looked after. It was so lovely to meet the camel owners and our tour guide and hotel owner grew up in one of the desert villages so is very knowledgable about the area and it was so interesting to hear of his experiences. We set off in a jeep into the desert with a few stops for sightseeing, met the camels and walked further into the desert. Here, a super delicious meal was cooked for us by the camel owners and we watched the sun set and ate dinner around the campfire, it was beautiful. I highly recommend this safari as an authentic and unforgettable experience.
