Coimbra, cidade dos estudantes, cidade onde aprendemos a dizer saudade, cidade cheia de encantos e recantos onde os troços da antiga muralha irão guiar-nos numa aventura repleta de história, memórias e sabedoria. Iniciaremos esta aventura ao longo das margens do rio Mondego, local onde atravessaremos uma ponte pedonal colorida, a Ponte Pedro e Inês, em direção ao Largo da Portagem. Sobre esta ponte, tem ainda o privilégio de contemplar uma ótima vista panorâmica para a magnífica cidade de Coimbra e serras envolventes. Ao longo deste percurso, o vasto património histórico, cultural e natural desta cidade desperta, em cada um de nós, a vontade de partir numa aventura. Uma aventura para desvendar a história e os mistérios escondidos ao longo das ruas e escadarias, desde a zona da baixa até à zona da alta da cidade, uma aventura para ficar a conhecer a antiga cidade muralhada e a mais antiga Universidade da Europa, a Universidade de Coimbra.

The guide was very knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. He had a good sense of humor and made it easy to ask questions.
We knew little about Coimbra other than where it is when we booked this tour. BY the end, Sergio had given us a good understanding of the history of the city and its importance to Portugal. Sergio is a great communicator and explains things in well. As he grew up in Coimbra he was able to give us insights into how the city has changed. He paced the tour really well and we didn’t notice the hill we walked up. The tour of the Santa Cruz Monastery was extra special and must for any trip to Coimbra. Having been a student at Coimbra University Sergio was able to give us the ‘inside’ information on students life in the town. He gave us great recommendations for things to do and restaurants. We highly recommend this tour and any tour by Aventuras Forte.
We spent the day exploring Coimbra with our guide, Sergio. Met him right on time at the Joaquim Antonio de Aguiar statue and started our walking tour through this beautiful historic city. We saw parts of the original 11th-century palace and city wall, visited the old and new cathedrals, and made our way up to the University of Coimbra — the oldest university in Europe! After crossing the Santa Clara bridge over the Mondego River, we wrapped up with a nice lunch. Lots of walking, climbing, and learning — a fun and informative day with a great guide.
What are the best tours I’ve ever had. Sergio is very knowledgeable and personable. He had a fantastic tour planned. And it’s easy to see he loves what he’s doing.

Absolutely the perfect comprehensive tour of the Coimbra city center and University. Our tour guide was local who graduated from the university. He was incredibly kind, gracious and very easy to understand. I highly recommend this tour.
