A Igreja Velha, apelidada localmente de 'João Torto', data do século XIII e ergue-se bem acima da praça onde começa o nosso passeio.
Com 120m de comprimento e 50m de largura, o Markt é uma das maiores praças da cidade holandesa. Com a grande Igreja Velha e a Câmara Municipal de cada lado, é o coração pulsante da cidade. Em qualquer dia, a praça fica repleta de esplanadas de cafés e inúmeras pequenas atividades. No entanto, ele realmente ganha vida durante os feriados nacionais, quando os moradores locais se reúnem para desfrutar de apresentações de música ao vivo, barracas de mercado e food trucks.
Este marco único foi originalmente construído como um edifício residencial, mas agora é usado como sede da autoridade regional de águas. Foi historicamente referida como a 'Casa dos Sinos', devido às suas flores em forma de sino que cresciam à volta do alpendre.

Disgraceful. Guide didn’t turn up. When he was contacted after he was 10 minutes late we were told the tour was cancelled but nobody was told. No refund has been received yet but it is not about the money. The tour being cancelled wasted our time and meant we couldn’t book any other tour on that afternoon. Very disappointing.

I do hope you still enjoyed your day in the city.
Very nice and interesting tour, even for locals. Kiki is an excellent guide. She does not only share a lot of interesting facts but is also very kind and willing to share extra information.
This was a 'free walking tour in Delft. Michel provided interesting anecdotes and history while walking around central Delft landmarks. He was great at engaging all members of the party and kept track of us in the crowded areas. Would recommend.

Entertaining guide. His English was good, but he spoke a touch too quickly. Even I (and English is my 1st language) missed one or two things he said because they were spoken too rapidly, and just occasionally mis-pronounced a few words. But hey! - I don't speak a word of Dutch so I can't really complain! He was very knowledgeable and answered questions quite effectively. My only other slight criticism was he spent just a little too long chatting about where people were from, mixed with some rather irrelevant information. (We didn't get moving until around 1.50pm.) BUT....he did a good job and the walk was entertaining and interesting.

Our guide, a young college student, was on her second week on the job. She was prompt, very pleasant. Her knowledge was fine, some questions she couldn’t answer. But. She. Spoke. Too. Fast. And. Too. Soft. I asked her to speak slowly and louder, to no avail. Her sentences often trailed off at the end. Very, very difficult to understand.
