Degustação de vinhos em San Gimignano

It was just my wife and I. This was a personal experience. We learned alot about the pride of the Tuscany wine region. The view was fabulous as we booked a late afternoon tasting. The knowledge of the young gentleman giving the class was understood very well.

The welcome we received was really friendly. The semilier was very knowledgeable and it was an immersive experience. It was brilliant for beginners and we both learnt a lot. It was good to try the variety of wines and understand what it is about the wine we preferred so, we know what to look out for. Highly recommend this experience and can buy the glasses for €6 each as a great souvenir.

It was a total nightmare. I made a reservation for a 3:00 tasting for 2 the day before and paid with my CC. Through a glitch in the online reservation system, I mistakenly registered twice for 2 people. There were 2 of us, but I made 2 separate reservations 5 minutes apart. (4 tastings total. ) The owner (manager?) of the wine experience emailed hours before the tasting asking me to to clarify. At the time he sent it I was already in San Gimignano where I had no signal so I never saw it. Arriving early for the tasting (10-15) minutes the owner said that we had a problem. From the start he insisted, "this is a problem for you, not for me." I made clear that there were only 2 of us, and that we did not need a tasting for 4 people, and that I did not intend to pay for 4 tastings. Since he had room for 8 couples and had only booked 3 couples I did not understand what the problem was. He claimed that he could not make a refund because his online platform shut down at 2:00. (Not true.) When asked to do it the next day his response was, "we cannot, we are closed.) He repeated a half dozen time "this is problem for you, not for me" I eventually pointed out that it was a problem for both of us. Much dialog ensued which became very heated. I made clear that I was happy to proceed with the tasting if he was willing to refund the mistaken charge. He was adamant that he could not and would not do that. At that point I lost all interest in the experience, and said given the situation was leaving and would be cancelling ALL 4 of the reservations with my credit card co. I walked out. He followed me, and only than FINALLY agreed to give a refund for the 2nd reservation. Although I was in no mood to stay I did because the person travelling with me wanted to. I did listen to the presentation and tasted all the wines, although I did not consume 90% of the wine. (I never leave a glass empty.) To be fair, the wines were excellent, the presentation was extremely well done, and the knowledge and passion of the owner was to be admired; however, I could not wait to get out of there. Why he chose to create such an ugly situation right before one that was supposed to be so special is beyond me. It was a total nightmare.

Pretty pleasant experience. Initially the guy who followed us didn’t seem very interested, but then he melted more exposing more his passion about it. The first glasses were not much, but it is a subjective opinion. For those who have little time, I recommend the experience as short and with a beautiful terrace in front, great for stopping there.

Sommelier prepared and available, exhaustive explanations, quality wine tasting. Good value for money.

This was a great experience in a beautiful location! Our tasting was lead by a knowledgeable man who made this experience really great. He was entertaining and friendly and we learnt so much whilst being taught how to really appreciate wine and the differences in every one. The location is great, we grabbed a glass after our tasting experience and sat on the beautiful outside area on top of a beautiful hill with a fantastic view and musicians adding to an excellent an ambient atmosphere!

A charming 45 minutes tasting four wines and learning a lot about the region and the grapes. Stefan was a good guide who spoke eloquently and with passion about the wines infront of us.

This was an excellent wine tasting led by an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Each wine we tasted was excellent and we learned a great deal and lots of fun.

The tasting was very interesting to learn about a grape that is from the Tuscany region, where in addition to information about its origin, cultivation and bottling rules, it was possible to taste four wines from different producers, which was very pleasant as I was getting to know this type of wine for the first time.
