De Santo Domingo Ilha Saona Comida e Bebida Catamarã Vip

This was one of the most poorly organized tours I've ever experienced. We were instructed to arrive at a meeting point at 6:10 a.m. in Zona Colonial, which meant starting the day without breakfast. My husband and I arrived early and waited for the rest of the group before being taken to a bus. The listed guide, Rafael, never appeared and was replaced by someone else without explanation. The replacement driver, Alberto, even made fun of my name, which was unprofessional and unnecessary. The problems continued throughout the day. We were told we would have a quick stop for food and restrooms, but our time was cut short because the tour needed to pick up additional "VIP" guests. Those guests repeatedly received priority treatment while the rest of us waited. We spent significant portions of the day sitting on buses, waiting at docks, or waiting for other groups. Although this is advertised as a Saona Island excursion, we didn't actually arrive at the island until approximately 1:30 p.m. After such an early start, we were shocked to learn we would be leaving around 3:00 p.m. In reality, we had less than two hours to enjoy the island after finding seating, eating lunch, and getting into the water. The lagoon stop felt rushed, and hired photographers constantly interrupted guests trying to enjoy the experience. On the island, vendors repeatedly approached us selling photos, massages, jewelry, and cigars, making it difficult to relax. The return trip was equally disorganized. We waited for late-arriving VIP guests, our bus driver was missing when it was time to leave, and another salesperson boarded the bus to sell products during the ride back. What was marketed as roughly a 10-hour excursion turned into a 15-hour day. We didn't return until around 9:00 p.m., forcing us to cancel dinner plans. The most disappointing part is that the majority of the day was spent waiting, transferring between vehicles and boats, or accommodating other groups. For all the travel time involved, the actual time spent enjoying Saona Island was minimal. I cannot recommend this tour in its current form. Viator should review this operator's logistics, communication, and treatment of guests, as the experience did not match expectations.

We booked the Saona trip through TripAdvisor from Santo Domingo and it was worth it! Our driver Wesly was great, super friendly and helpful. There was a little delay, but it gave us time to get snack and explore the area. The boat ride was fantastic and fun! The water was amazing 🤩 so clear and warm! I felt like I was in paradise! The food was good. Would do it again and recommend it!

For me, I loved it. It was a long day trip but full of entertainment that last for a long time. There was dancing entertainment and most of us danced. There was unlimited drinks and we stoped to swim in the natural pool. The food was great with unlimited drinks and pictures as well. I throughly enjoyed myself. The only thing to be mindful of is that after the first stop everyone is wet so the floor is slippery. You need to be very careful that you don’t slip and fall on the boat. So if you are an older adult or if you are caring for older adults, please be very very very careful so they don’t fall!

It was a nice and quiet experience within expectations. For improving logistics and communication issues in the collection with users.

Amazing ! Great staff, good food, the places are amazing. Beautiful experience with a topnotch organization, from the departure in bus from Santo Domingo to the boat. It’s a very touristic place so everything is well done even on a tight schedule

The worst experience ever. This is a not as advertised and it was a pretty scary travel process with all of the different vehicles we were switched over to. The translator withheld information when translating it to the English speaking individuals unaware that some of us were bilingual. It was the worst experience eve.

We took the tour “From Santo Domingo Saona Island – Food and Drink – VIP Catamaran” and I was delighted. I received exactly everything they offered: good organization, very friendly and attentive staff, with a very nice and special vibe, delicious fresh food and drinks always available. What I liked most was that they complied with using catamaran at all times; they never used speedboats for the open ocean, something that for me was super important to feel calm and enjoy the scenery. The trip was comfortable, safe and very pleasant. Undoubtedly, a highly recommended experience and that I would repeat again.

Despite the amazing beach and amazing people you can find in this tour, the rest was completely awful!!!! From the start, it started late (around 7) despite they asked us to be 6 AM!!!! The van they used to transport until the boat didn’t have any security in the seats, not even the driver had seatbelts, dirty, dangerous driver, checked his phone the entire 3 hours of driving. Then everything overcrowded, dirty, no clear direction. If you don’t speak Spanish they barely explain to you what is happening. I felt unsafe the ent entire trip. When we got to Saona, they gave us bad food. I had food poisoning and vomited and diarrhea since I came back from it. People started harrasing asking for tips and money. It felt very uncomfortable and terrible for a supposed to be a pleasant trip. Then there’s a photographer who claims to take pictures which were overpriced. 2$ per photo!!!! They asked to take pictures and sell them on a bottle of mamajuana who never asked in the first place and the. Got angry when you didn’t pay for it. It will be a short time before someone sues this company. Something will be wrong and a life will be paid with this tour. They should shut down the company!!!

Awsome place AND service. Colon tower Is beautiful AND interesting, the 3 eyes aré wonderful AND the becah my best. All this with the great service makes it unforgetable

The transfer is poorly organized, on viator a pick up time appears, but in reality you leave an hour later. The number on the local guide's viator is wrong, the person I wrote to gave me the correct number. The experience in general is not the best because you stay little time at the beach
