Construído em 1875 por Lama Sherab Gyatso, seu conteúdo imagens de divindades budistas e lamas, como Chen Rezig, o budista da compaixão e Tsongkhapa, o fundador da seita Geluvpa. O Centro de Auto-Ajuda para Refugiados Tibetanos (TRSHC), localizado em Lebong e conhecido localmente como Hermitage, foi fundado em 2 de outubro de 1959. Zhu Dan estabeleceu este centro em 1959 com fundos arrecadados por meio de caridade local (esposa de Gyalo Thondup). Inicialmente, a instalação forneceu ajuda de emergência aos refugiados tibetanos que fizeram a perigosa jornada através do Himalaia até a Índia. It is very difficult to see the vast expanse of Darjeeling, India and its winding and hilly roads without a car, and so the Darjeeling Full Day tour is just what you need to see this beautiful part of the India and the Himalayas. Mr Abhishek organised the tour and my tour guide/driver was Rajat. They were very nice and eager to show you the sights of Darjeeling. You will be taken by car to various temples, the war memorial and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway train interchange, the Tiger Hill observatory, the Darjeeling Zoo, the Happy Valley tea factory, and a particular treat - the Tibet refugee site - where I learned invaluable information on the history of Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling. The tour really does give you a great overview of Darjeeling in one day. I highly recommend it!
