This was an amazing experience from beginning to end. Simone was excellent in sharing his knowledge and experience with us while giving details to the locations that made the day even more enjoyable. And his recommendation for lunch was amazing. He had water and soft drinks available for the trip and during the day it was a life saver. Do your self a favor and book with him if you can and arrange fir the pick up and drop. Most seamless tour experience we had in our week in Rome. Will book with him again.
Having been to Rome before I wanted to explore outside the city centre. While there are many companies offering day trips to Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este they spend an hour at each venue. Scoot around Rome was the only operator offering 2/3hrs at each and really I think you need it! Both are stunning in their own right and deserve at least 2 hrs of your time. (But at the same time, if you want shorter/longer all you need to do is message and let Simone know and he will be ready to leave whenever you are). There is no need to book tickets in advance, they can be bought on arrival (approx €15 for each site. Audio guide at Villa d’Este was extra). Simone was friendly and professional, his car was well stocked with water and cola, charging cords and he even had a spare phone in case I had no data. He was also knowledgeable and gave a brief history of the area and we made a stop a long the way to see a waterfall and an old church. He recommended places for lunch and even gave recommendations for Rome after the day trip. All in all it was a great experience and I highly recommend to everyone!
Wow, what an experience for us. Simone is a very friendly and experienced guide. He took us places we would not have thought of or found on our own. It was a very hot day and walking around the places we went to was tough on us. We were so glad Simones car was airconditioned. We both had an amazing day and highly recommend this tour.
It was a great day. I really recommend this type of tour with a car and a driver, especially with Simone who is very friendly, and who explains very well what there is to see. He gives lots of very interesting little details. It is really ideal and comfortable. Villa Adriana is magnificent, superb ruins. Villa d'Este, more recent, is also very interesting. Personally, I loved the villa's gardens with all the magnificent fountains. Simone also showed us the great waterfall of Tivoli, very beautiful. A very enriching day with a very pleasant person.
Marvellous tour with Scoot Around Rome, both in central Rome, and Hadrian's Villa and Tivoli Gardens. Interesting, informative, thrilling and fun. Highly recommended.
An excellent tour thanks to our guide Simone. He is very knowledgeable & shared many interesting facts, as well as answered our numerous questions, not just about each place on the tour, but related to any subject we wanted to talk about. Simone provided a more accurate picture of true everyday life in Rome, along with the history & culture. He is very personable with a great sense of humor, too. Simone agreed to pick us up at our hotel for a little extra, which we much appreciated. It was so nice and comfortable to tour in a private car opposed to a crowded bus full of strangers. He even provided fresh pastry, chocolates and drinks, plus took us to places of interest not even listed on the itinerary. You will not be disappointed if you tour with Simone. Thanks for a fabulous day!
Had a really enjoyable day out with Simone. He was knowledgeable and fun to be with. It's a great way to get to Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa and the detour to walk on the Appian Way and see the 'Quo Vadis' church of Santa Maria in Palmis was a particular highlight for me.
Ciao Maggie :-) makes me happy to read your message and to know how you liked the day to Tivoli ! See you next time for more amazing places to visit ! Ciao ciao e grazie , Simone
Simone was great. I had originally booked a solo trip but a friend was able to join at the last minute and Simone was very accommodating. I had not realized that Simone was not able to enter the grounds and guide us as they are restricted positions. However, it all worked out fine and my friend and I appreciated being able to wander to look at what appealed most to us. Both villas are amazing and it is so much easier to visit with a driver who knows where he is going and can deal with parking.
Ciao :-) grazie mille for your words of appreciation ! Whenever is possible to do something more I'm all in ! As a traveller myself i know that every day can build a greater memory of our trip ! See you again for more incredible sites to discover !! Ciao ciao Simone
Simone was quite the unexpected pleasure for our tour to Tivoli, polite professional knowledgeable, the best. His vehicle was clean and comfortable, and he provided water and soft drinks. We have done many tours over many years, he’s a cut above them all.
Ciao Gilbert :-) thank you so much for your words ! I'm very happy to know i made your day here a good one ! It's honestly a good day for me too when i have good people and great travelers like you !! See you again in Roma , grazie Simone
Simone made our day extremely comfortable. He treated us like we were old friends. It felt like he was a friend sharing his country and customs. It was a day to remember with visits to Hadrians Village and Villa D’Este- both magnificent examples of early Roman life. We highly recommend a day with Simone.
