Nigel was an excellent guide, with a seemingly endless knowledge of the city. The route covered a lot of ground, with amusing & highly relevant tales as we went along. We saw many large group tours as we went around, but I recommend this private tour as an alternative. Much more personal with just the three of us & Nigel. Thanks for a great tour Nigel, see you next time!

Nigel kindly agreed to meet us at a different starting point as we were arriving late into the City. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The 90 minutes went past quickly and we all enjoyed the experience.

I booked this as a private group for my sister’s hen do. The tour was excellent and Ross did a great job. The pace was great, and we saw a lot of the centre of York without having to do lots of walking or rushing about. The stories were interesting, a mix of supernatural and history. The cost for a private group was very reasonable. We all had a great time. Highly recommend Dark Tales of York.

We were so lucky to find Nigel’s private ghost tour when looking for something spooky to do with our 7yo. We’ve done a few ghost tours in different cities and he often struggles being part of a bigger group. Plus he was excited to have a “VIP Ghost Tour” Nigel’s communication before the tour was amazing and he quickly confirmed he was available and we made the arrangements. His stories were excellent and we learned lots about the spooky side of York as well as the less creepy facts. The tour flew by but delivered on every level. Nigel is not only very knowledgable about York but “performs” his tales with such style and wit in parts. Our son voted the tour the best bit of our whole holiday! Highly recommend Nigel and his tour - book it and enjoy. You won’t be disappointed!
