Dalat: Cloud Hunting & Sunrise Trekking até Hon Ho Mountain

I visited during a quieter period, so there was a chance the Cloud Hunting Tour might not go ahead due to the minimum number of participants. I really appreciated that the agency was upfront and honest about this the evening before, keeping me informed throughout. In the end, they went the extra mile and arranged for the tour to proceed as a private experience, which I was very grateful for. My guide, Doan, was excellent. Communication was prompt from the start, and he kept me updated on the weather conditions, what to expect, and what I should bring. He even brought an extra warm jacket for me just in case, which was a very thoughtful gesture. During the hike, Doan was patient with my pace and shared stories about the area, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. Although the summit was initially covered by mist and fog, meaning we couldn’t see the sunrise at first, he explained the conditions, showed me photos from previous tours so I knew what it normally looked like, and encouraged us to wait. While enjoying hot tea he had prepared (together with a cloth to sit on), the mist gradually cleared and we were rewarded with beautiful views. On the way back, Doan kindly brought me to the famous Chinese temple nearby. This wasn’t part of the itinerary, but he took the time to explain its history, significance and even the local way of praying, which I really appreciated. We finished the morning with a delicious local breakfast, which was the perfect ending after the hike. Despite English not being his first language, Doan was an excellent conversationalist and made the entire experience enjoyable. The weather may not always cooperate, but great service is something the team can control—and both Doan and Viet Challenge Tours delivered that exceptionally well. I would happily recommend them to anyone visiting Đà Lạt.

This was my first hiking experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one! I was honestly nervous, especially on the way down, but our guides, Tri and Quoc, made the entire experience so much easier and more enjoyable. A special thank you to Quoc, who literally helped me every step of the way, both up and down the mountain. He was incredibly patient, kind, and supportive, and without his encouragement I don’t think I would have made it down with so much confidence. Both Tri and Quoc were amazing guides. They were friendly, started conversations, kept the atmosphere fun, and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the hike. Overall, I had such a wonderful experience and I’m so happy I decided to do this. I would definitely recommend this hiking tour to anyone, especially if it’s your first time!

OK guys you have to try this. This is the best tour I took in Vietnam. I'm not a hiker, but the guys took good care of us, so thank you Tri and Quoc, specially Quoc he was our hero for the day, he helped us to go up and come down as it was slippery. So even if you are not a hiker, please try it, you are in a good hands.

The guides were so patient and friendly ! Like they helped with taking awesome photos they didn’t rush us and ensured we had a great meaningful time. The guides ,Tri and Quoc are awesome and made the tour ten times better ! Really nice people !

This is very good and fun! I enjoyed it so much, it is beginner friendly and perfect! Guides r very helpful too soooolo fun! I will 100 perc recommend. We were able to visit a pagoda and ate yummy breakfast afterwards! So worth it. Plz go Guides: Tri and quoc (very fun, caring and nice) I will recommend this trip ! Go for it!!!!

Excellent service! Tri Quoc is very considerate to prepare the hiking gear and hot chocolate for the hike. He also toured us to have pho at a popular local restaurant afterward.

had the most wonderful time with our tour guide Doan. my partner was on the verge of crying because the hike was quite steep and it was almost pitch black at night. however, Doan went beyond his way to provide us with torch lights, and even lent her his shoulder. upon arriving at the summit, Doan took his time to find the safest spot for us to sit down and admire the sunrise with mats to cover us from the soil. to top it off, we were served hot tea & chocolate. as we were admiring the sunrise, Doan served not only as our tour guide, but as a photographer! i really appreciate how they prioritised safety above everything else and made sure we always felt comfortable. while we were one of the slowest groups, Doan did not rush us, but instead encouraged us to take our time and kept checking in on us. after the hike, we made our way to a pagoda and ended off the morning with bun cha and bahn cuon. we even had the best cup of soy milk here! thank you doan for making our experience so enjoyable. we would definitely recommend this to any one coming down to dalat.

not even 30 mins from the main road, you’ll already be rewarded with an amazing view. .the view is def worth the short trek. .Tri and Harry were both very friendly and accommodating.
