We were picked up from our hotel on time and greeted by Ong, our guide and Tato our driver. Ong was very knowledgeable about the history of all the pacific islands and their actions in the war. During the journey he told us all about the history and answered any questions we had. We were taken to the Bridge over the River Kwai and spent some time there walking across the bridge and taking photos. We then went to the museum and the Commonwealth War Cemetery. From here we were taken back to near the bridge to catch the train on the Death Valley railway route. The journey on the train took about an hour and we then had lunch near the site of an old Prisoner of War camp, in a lovely restaurant. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would definitely recommend it. Our only observation is we wish we could have spent a bit more time in the Museum and at the Commonwealth Cemetery. Overall, a fantastic day. The minibus was very comfortable and clean and air conditioned. We were given two bottles of water throughout the day and also stood for toilet breaks down and back. Thank you Ong and Tato for a fabulous day!

Ong and Tato will be thrilled to know their knowledge, professionalism, and care helped make your experience special. We're glad you found the minibus comfortable and appreciated the thoughtful touches like water and rest stops. It was a great day experience to visit a historic but somber sights from the WWII. Our guide was excellent with a balance of historic fact and also explained about modern times and the area. The set lunch was good and the train ride was very good and worth paying the supplement for seats.
Thank you for sharing your experience! Visiting historic WWII sites can be both meaningful and thought-provoking, and we're glad to hear your guide provided a great balance of historical context and modern insights. It's also wonderful that you enjoyed the set lunch and found the train ride worthwhile. We appreciate your feedback and hope you have more memorable travels ahead! 😊
We have used Viator successfully fir several years. This tour was disappointing. Our tour guide Eddy was very charming but was not very knowledgeable, his English was not up to standard and he slept the two hours to our destination and the 3 hours back. The most difficult part was our return to Bangkok. We had specifically booked this tour because we were told we would have pick up and drop off at our hotel as my friend has mobility issues. All the passengers were told the same thing. When we we arrived back in Bankok we were delivered to the MBK mall and told we would have to find our own way back to our hotel. This caused considerable stress to the passengers, the driver and guide. After several phone calls we were driven to our hotel. The whole episode added another half hour to our travel time and put a bad end on a long hot day.
Thank you for your honest feedback. We're sorry to hear that this tour did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience and stress caused by the issues you encountered. It's disappointing to learn that Eddy's knowledge and English proficiency were not up to standard, and that he was unprofessional during the journey. We deeply regret the misunderstanding regarding the hotel drop-off, especially given your friend's mobility issues. The additional stress and delay caused by this situation are unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Your feedback is invaluable and will help us improve our services. We hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
It was a great trip for a reasonable price. The tour guide Victor is a great guide for the whole trip!
I'm glad to hear that you had a great trip with Victor as your guide! Having a knowledgeable and friendly guide can make all the difference in the quality of a tour. If you have any other feedback or if there's anything else you'd like to share about your experience, feel free to let me know!
Fascinating tour and lesson in history. Eurocentric west rarely teaches the impact in Southeast Asia of WW2 William the tour leader was charming and knowledgeable. Warning though it’s a old day in very hot area
It sounds like a captivating tour with a knowledgeable guide! William's expertise and charm surely made the historical lesson engaging. Thanks for the heads-up about the weather—being prepared for the heat definitely adds to the overall experience in such environments.
