We loved this boat trip! Very informative and fun. Audio info is good, but staff on boat, Anton, was also super informative and friendly. Adding extra bits and answering questions. We did 1.5 hour trip without getting off at the island, and managed to stay outside almost the whole time, but were glad to come in towards the end. lots of seals and birds seen. One warning, if arriving by bus be aware that Google maps indicates a route down some very steep and badly maintained steps in Dalmeney (nothing to do with boat tour company!) Walk along road through South Queensferry instead if you have anyone with mobility issues.
Lovely 90 minute boat ride. Nice mix of wildlife (puffins and seals) and bridges/engineering. And a little bit of history along the way. Very friendly and informative crew.

Excellent skippers and commentary, lovely boat ride, enhances the Edinburgh experience. A bit far, but worth it without a doubt!

Beautiful tour of the 3 bridges and a stop on the island for 2 hours. Would definitely recommend doing this!!

It is a mind blowing cruise! Many thanks for your valued comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your cruise with Forth Boat Tours.
walking by google maps is inaccurate. many steps on narrow road. took a lot of time from the train station. should take the bus instead
Your comment has absolutely nothing to do with Forth Boat Tours cruise. It is all about your public transport journey. Nothing that Forth Boat Tours has control of. So, why have you scored our Crusie as 2* Nonsense.
Fabulous/informative boat trip with extremely polite, friendly crew. Topped off with great views of puffins! Would definitely recommend.

The weather makes the experience. A lovely, sunny day made the walks, sail and exploration of the island a perfect , relaxing day out. We saw sealions, gulls, the wonderful Abbey and beautiful scenery all day. The Firth was calm and the bridges were spectacular. The commentary on the boat was difficult to hear where we were sitting. This needs to be improved as the information was so interesting. The crew were a lovely, friendly, informative bunch. Thoroughly good time. Would have been 5 stars if I could have heard the commentary.
Thanks for your comments. You didn't see sea lions you saw grey seals or harbour seals. The abbey is stunning and delighted that you took time to explore the island.
Fantastic trip on May 4th, we were running later due to horrendous parking in South Queensferry but the ticket office were so understanding and helpful so rebooked to a later trip. Staff could not have been more helpful both in the ticket office and on the boat. The boat had plenty of room and we could move around with no issue as it wasn't too busy which was a good thing and a small bar/cafe on the lower deck as the kids needed snacks. Trip itself was brilliant and went on for an all too quick 90 minutes. I've lived in Edinburgh, and surrounding areas, for 50+ years and never done this but will certainly be back especially as it is basically the same cost as a trip to the cinema for a family of 4 and far better. Views were stunning and even managed to see seals and Derek the dolphin which was a huge highlight for us all. Can't recommend it enough and would recommend taking a good camera as I only had my mobile which still managed to get some good pictures.
Delighted to welcome a 'local' on board and that you and your family had a fantastic day out. We look forward to welcoming you on board again soon.
Completely wonderful from start to finish! Good commentary, plenty of indoor or outdoor seating, modern boat, helpful staff, and a great trip on the Forth. I took the 3-hr tour that for an extra £6 landing fee includes a 2-hr stop on Inchcombe Island, which was fascinating - with a ruined 13c monastery and WW2 ruins, huge variety of bird life, lovely scenery and plenty to see during the stopover. The boat goes beneath all 3 bridges and the views are completely spectacular! Tip: go on a day when good visibility and calm conditions are forecast. Also try to avoid gull-nesting season as they are quite intimidating and can be very aggressive!
